After all the moaning about the setanta cup, linfield still have travel to cork. Will they refuse unless UEFA subsidise their travel expenses?
Very happy with that draw and also for pats, rovers and dundalk. Good chance of us all progressing
All favourable draws. Could be a good European season with all clubs with a decent chance of progressing without putting the hockers on clubs after saying it.

Decent draws for all the Irish sides. Hopefully a few will progress to their next rounds.
Brilliant draws all round it has to be said. Without wanting to set everything up for a big fall, that's the best chance of progression for every team we have had in years. League of Ireland sides probably slight favourites in each of the games except for Dundalk in Iceland which will be a fascinating watch.
Hopefully we get some tv coverage now.

Lokomotiva Zagreb (Croatia) or Santa Colona (Andorra) for Shamrock Rovers should they progress.
Dinamo Minsk (Belarus) or Spartaks Jarmala (Latvia) for Pats

They're not bad draws for that stage.
Good chance of one third round team? Plus maybe Dundalk of course.
On paper the Dundalk draw looks good but without meaning to sound like i'm revising down any expectations they have plenty of European experience and some good results. That said if the performance away to Bate can in anyway be recreated we can be hopeful. It is the best chance for some sort of breakthrough for quite a while. If we can get the front men firing....
BK Hacken of Sweden if Cork progress. Tough one there.

if we beat Linfield we're playing Hacken of Sweden. Could have been better, could have been worse. I'm relatively happy.
Happy with our draw in terms of travel & football if we had a decent side this year I might have even been confident.
Decent draws all round. Dundalk will be delighted with drawing FH, although they are no mugs and have played in Europe every year for the last 17 seasons I think I read. It's by far the best we could have hoped for, with a real chance of going through if we play well. Avoiding BATE and Cophenagen was key, both CL group stage merchants, Celtic would have made decent money not sure re Rossenberg and Red Star, but FH def the most winnable.
Just noticed Pats play the same side we got 2 years ago. We won 5-1 on agg, so Pats should be strong enough to go through. Meant to be a nice spot too over there. Not too sure about Rovers, could have been worse I suppose.
Cork away in Belfast is a great draw really. So easy to get you, motorway all the way to just north of Dundalk, then a dual carriage way & part motorway all the way into the city. Cork should really fancy themselves to advance there, it will be Linfield's first competitive game, plus they were hot and cold last season.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).
I've known for awhile that I wouldn't be able to go to the away leg because of work, but knowing it's only up in Belfast is after really ticking me off

Good draws all round.
Saw this summary on RTÉ earlier:
Thought it summed up what is wrong with the Irish media and public's view of the LOI and football in Ireland generally. Dundalk will be wanting to progress for the long-term benefits that that can offer. I doubt anyone at the club will be losing any sleep over the fact they "missed out" (as if that's what anyone was hoping for in the first place) on a so-called "glamour tie" against Celtic. Unbelievable to see RTÉ reporting the draw almost as if it were bad news. It's a great draw for Dundalk and gives the club a real chance.
More than just a chance of winning the tie - beat FH and they get two shots at reaching a group stage. Win CL round 3 and at worst they're straight into the Europa League group stages; lose it and they're into the EL play-off round.
€2.4m now for getting to the Europa League group stages, plus €120k per point. Even the chance of that is surely worth more than a "glamour" tie against Celtic.
