Easily the biggest away following in the Markets Field was First Division Champions 2016 Limerick FCs following away to Bluebell in the FAI cup.

See 1 lad of no more than 14/15 getting turned away for being 'Too Drunk' and when his dad went to try and explain to the Steward he wasn't drinking and had been in a car with him whole way, the exact words were '**** Off'! He had to go to a Guard inside the ground to let him out of the ground so his son wouldn't be alone outside

Difficult situation for security who have a difficult job and have to put up with a lot of crap.

The youngfella was allowed in and in fact Cork City subsidised his ticket as he didn't have enough money on him and his father was not around.
Cops went heavy with a good few DFC fans outside the ground.
Some were a wee bit pished but in decent enough condition to get into the ground.(i had a few drinks on board, who dosn't when travelling to a match?I was deemed ok for entry to the ground prob because i'm a an older fart)

In fairness to the Cork stewards they argued on behalf of the Dundalk lads and most of them got in before ko.

I wouldn't be anti- Gardai or anything near it but they created a bit of a situation there on Friday night that could have been avoided if common sense had prevailed for a while and if international rugby side visiting rules had been applied.
Anyway the few that were not getting in did eventually get in at h/t or close to it.

Haha that's absolutely hilarious. No more than 60 or 70. Not a single chance

2041 for Dundalk v Pats.Awful attendance.Few people on twitter suggesting that Euro 2016 is impacting on attendances due to fans keeping cash or spent it already for beer money to watch Ireland ?

Was actually told 150 by someone.who counted them midway through 2nd half. I have no reason to lie to anyone. Remember attendance counts all in ground and not just persons who pay in.

There seems to be different reasons put forward each home game on the drop in crowds, last night had a very low away support from Pats for a change.

However we can dress it up anyway we like, the fact still remains, Dundalk's crowds are currently down around 600 from last season and I think 2,041 v Pats is a terrible attendance with no excuses.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).

What's going on there? I would have thought the town would be buzzing after the last few season and people love a winning team.

Maybe the next few months will see bigger crowds with the Champions League in town.
    Here on a technicality.

Every game's crowds were down at the weekend, of course the Euros didn't help but look back at the first games after the break in past years, they're always down

Crowds should be well up next round of games. 70,000 "fans" will have returned from France

Euro quarter finals on this week-end which won't help attendances.

Yes, I read an estimate of 1,500 in one paper on Wednesday and I think the extratime site had the same.

Considering Richmond had to be an all seating capacity for this fixture, that would have been approximately 2,500 seats and ticket pricing was more for a European tie, I think anywhere between 1,500-2,000 was a good turnout.

Some journalists were told they wouldn't be given the attendance until after the lad doing the UEFA website had been given the figure - which is normal for these games. I'd left before it was given out - if it was at all. At least 2,000 and maybe a little more. I don't know how Extra Time came up with 1,500. Defo more than that.

Pat's always on the ball with the correct figure. Always given to us without fail for every league game.

About 200 in Longford tonight. Club say 296 but that must include players, officials and birds flying overhead.
