No figure announced at Pats v Galway last Friday, maybe in 800-900 range. I seen them at Limerick this season, but do many other LoI clubs have ballboys for their games. Not good for the image of the league to have a goalkeeper have to jump the wall to retrieve the ball.

Dundalk have ball girls. Does that count?

Tickets sent to Tallaght for Shamrock to distribute to their fans probably played apart too.
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!

Some weeks we have them some weeks we don't. It really slows the entire thing down without them and as you said looks awful when players have to go jumping walls. Even with them it's often a waste of time as they aren't allowed to stand on the side of the pitch they have to stand behind the goals or along the sides, well that's how they do it in Longford anyway.

Dundalk's average attendance up to over 5,000 now this season. Expect the next home game to be a bit less well attended, could be as low as 25,000 I fear.

One of those numbers in that figure doesn't look right to me. Kids, can you guess which one? Seriously though, it was a great crowd on the night and could have been bigger but I'm sure the weather put off some people from turning up on the night. I don't know what it is about the Av.. erm, I mean Dublin Arena, but I can never warm to the place. Something soulless about the venue.

Derry do, would be a mess without them.
It's a useful ploy to get youngsters interested in the club, since the take the ballboys/girls from different clubs each week. I was buzzing when I was selected for it when I was about eight. Then the mach got called off due to rain, and I never got another chance. Dreams ruined.
It also it gives supporters a talking point, judging the skill of the individual children and whether in they're up to the job.

Rovers do as well, Academy kids normally and some of them make an effort to show a bit of skill while they are at it.

I'd have no doubt that hit the crowd. Some time back there was a Man United Villa game on a Friday and it certainly caused our crowd to dip at the time.

If there were 400 at that game I'd be surprised. Maybe 40-60 from Cork.

yep very poor turnout from us. I think ppl will hold out until they see wot Mathews can do first.Mathews will get a hell of a shock when he finally takes charge as the atmo is gone from the ground completely and will never return.
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

We don't half like to exaggerate in Longford. There's something very Eamon Dunphy about a lot of the stuff said online.

Ah to be honest it is like a morgue these days but if we win the FD next season that will soon change. Footballs a funny game and fans attitudes soon change

I think the Trackchamp streaming agreement has affected attendance. Quite easy to whatever game u want on them and they have improved slightly on quality. Shelbourne have about 6,000 watching a Facebook stream of their game against Athlone when they was only about 200 at most in attendance for example.
