6th time in 60 games in all competitions

First time I've ever witnessed us beating the muckers fantastic night, the majority of Derry fans were fine, a few idiots threw a number of smoke bombs and flares onto the pitch and after we went 2-0 up some decided to take their frustration out on Harps banners which they shouldn't of been anywhere near
First time in Ferrycarrig Park tonight, grand facilities especially the clubhouse but feckin hell it's exposed and it was bloody cold with that wind going through you. As for the game the wind ruined it, Youths look very fit and strong but lacking real creativity. Our defence surprised and impressed me, Rossiter is half the size he was last season and was excellent alongside Haverty.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

Haven't seen or heard what happened to the flags, but I presume the ones affected were those attached behind the goal. No mitigation if so, some fans need a good hard look.
Wasn't too impressed with whoever came up with the idea of have City fans go single file into the away end (behind the goal was taped off down to the wall at the touchline - the tape didn't last long). Well intentioned maybe, but it made france all sense in execution with the numbers of Derry fans trying to get into the oversubscribed away end. If the entire area behind the goal is unavailable for safety reasons, then come up with a different idea rather than funnelling hundreds into a tight area. Not least when you're funnelling them past the home fans with plenty of room in their covered stand...
On the pitch, the more organised, aggressive and stouter team deserved to win. It was a bogging game, but Harps clearly the better drilled side. Derry defended poorly and didn't get much going. Had a poor view of the second goal, but if Curran wasn't offside the our defence need to have a hard think about what they're at. Laughable. Looking like a long season.
That pitch is a pile of gack and plays like one.
Special word for Tomas Connolly - made no impact on the result, but slowed the game to a crawl with his fusspot reffing. Maddening to an already poor spectacle.
Horrendous game, we sat so deep against them and let a poor side play. Wouldn't be overly confident after watching that. Nice to start with a win tho.
Strange match. We looked fairly comfortable till the goal. After that we went to pieces. Anto had a mare. Some positives to take from the game but I worry about us in the final third. On to next week. It's been a long winter.
Thought Bohs looked very comfortable in the first half, to be fair Cork did what they had to do in the second half and closed the game out fairly easily. Maguire took his goals well.
Big surprise at Richmond, but heard Galway were well worth it. I'm sure the Harps fans enjoyed their win, as rare as they have been in the past 20 years or so. Decent start for Longford away in Wexford, and it won't get easier for the men in pink away to Rovers next week.

Finn Park was submerged in water a few weeks ago in the flooding. The pitch was sanded last week but another bad week of weather didn't help.
It definitely affected the game, was a very poor spectacle. The horrible performance of the ref didn't help who seemed to give a free for every tackle.
Harps were definitely the better drilled side, very solid at the back, dangerous from set pieces and pressed the ball well all over the pitch.
Derry had no fight, poor use of the ball and gave away 2 very soft goals. Could be a long season for them.
Fantastic crowd at the game, great to see the old place packed to the rafters again.
As for the Derry fans, the majority were no problem. I don't blame them for going up the river end, better view. The flags destroyed was poor form and the guys standing ****ing on the big flag was childish but you get those types of clowns at these games and might not see them the rest of the season.
The flow of Derry fans out after our 2nd goal was a surprise though. Almost half the Derry support was gone with 20 mins to go.
The FAI and Gardai were the source of the organisation of the crowd control and segregation. It wasn't ideal by any stretch, but it will definitely have to be looked at by Harps in relation to future big away crowds. A proper fence or a wall would have to be built if this plan was to continue.

It was interesting watching Cork last night. There is a definite attempt to play a different brand of football. A lot of this resolves around Bolger, I thought he was very influential last night and provides a lot more than Healy or Miller.
It will be interesting to see how they line up in away matches as this is where Caulfield typically lacks confidence in his players and himself.

Anyone any idea if the games were on trackchamp? Completely forgot about it myself. Great to have the football back and a couple of brilliant results for Harps and Galway to kick start the season to boot. Hopefully we kick off well v Bray tonight, very strange goings on there over the off season and I can see them giving a lot of teams problems this year, if they don't go through another 5 managers and all the other assorted madness again this season!
There was new high end looking camera attached to our main stand I assume it was part of the new system for betting companies.
