    leinster senior cup

I seen in yesterdays Herald that the Leinster Senior Cup 3rd round between Thomastown Utd and Drumcondra is on Sunday in United Park(assume Thomastown). I assume that there will be a replay so we should soon get an answer to whom we will be playing.

I assume that the Drumcondra we could play is a different club to the Drumcondra that pulled out of the league of ireland in 1972?
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

You should be telling us, but I think it at least pretends to be the same club. A bit like the current Cork teams claiming previous entities history.

I'd say it's this Drumcondra http://lsl.ie/league-table/?id_division=50 Leinster Senior League Top Division.

Gary Howlett ex Shels player is their Manager.

You are damn right Macy. I never really found out the full story of what happened to Drumcondra but to those that are interested this is an article of their history!

In future in my case think before I google and I will get the answer before I comment!

its a weird history that Drumcondra has since 1972 as I assume that they must have being out of the LSL for a long time before they got back in! I know that Bray Wanderers was there in the late 50s then it became Bray Unknowns and then Bray Wanderers again!!

Bray Wanderers and Bray Unknowns are different clubs. The current Bray Wanderers was only founded in 1985 (for league entry)

there is no date confirmed Pauro !but its Drumcondra who will be playin and I think its only the third time we have met them after meeting them in the 1937 and 1957 FAI Cup.

The last thing the league needed in 1985 was another club from the Pale.
