Thomastown is only around 25 minutes down the road from me. It was badly hit during the flooding there last week, where Joan Burton quite hilariously fell out of the boat that was travelling on a foot of water.

Who's organising all these friendlies for Athlone. Has Alan Matthews been confirmed as back in charge yet.

A pub team with their own land, all-weather facilities, a few full size pitches and room to grow.

I'm officially jumping on the Thomastown United bandwagon. My Dad's home town. It would be fair to say it's not a traditional soccer heartland, so fair play to them, looks like a great setup.

May I be the first to say I reckon Thomastown are living beyond their means and will probably go bust before the end of the season. How they got through licensing is a mystery to me.
