    Limerick 1-1 Dundalk

Just back from Jackman after seeing Limerick become the first side to take points off the mighty Dundalk this season. And a fully deserved point in my opinion. A highly encouraging display. The outlook for the season has just got much brighter in my opinion after this last minute goal. We have a serious manager coupled with a strong team spirit. Probably only two more games in Jackman before the Markets Field move. We are well capable of picking up a few points in Bray and Galway before the big move which could see us in a much better position.

Are we though? We're conceding in every game and we've not scored many. Just about deserved a point tonight but long way to go... This group of players has 'valiant losers' written all over them.

I think we have definitely started to improve. We have steadily tidied up the goals conceded, 3-0, 5-0, 2-2, 1-1, 2-1, 1-1. Dundalk created very little and we handled anything they threw at us and Pats similarly. Two silly mistakes against Pats but that was it.

Seems to be a very good team spirit there. If we can keep games tighter like we are at the moment then we will be likely to pick up points as we go along. Being in the position we are that is exactly what we will be looking to do.

Could have gone to the game tonight, didn't. Won't be going near a match till the banning situation is sorted. But I'm happy to see the squad grab a point against the champions.

As for moving to the Market's Field in a few games, ah, is that actually confirmed? What's the site look like?

750 there tonight which was not bad.sizeable Dundalk crowd. Any developments re that situation with the ludicrous banning. Someone alluded to some developments on a resolution on the other thread. As regards the Markets Field, judging by their Facebook site work is continuing unabated with the floodlight pylons being erected last week aswell as the precast steps being fitted on the stand. May 16th v Cork is surely achievable.

The defence was quiet solid tonight, not like the first couple of games. No clean sheet yet, but Towell's strike tonight was just a wonderstrike. 1st clean sheet is not far away at all. We are going to be alright.

That was a good performance against a Dundalk team that didn't really fancy it, kept plugging away and got the draw that we really deserved.

Much more confident about survival now that we are settling in. We are poor enough but there's some really really poor teams in the Premier this year. The next two games will be season defining, four points and you're well on your way. What we have over the other poor teams is we have the best manager of the bunch by a long chalk. Just hope that events in The Showgrounds and Inchicore don't rob us of him!

given where we are at,a great point ,good performance albeit greatly helped by Dundalks below par efforts on the night and Kennys decision making which was strangly off key[not moving Shields back to replace Garthland just a case in point.].powerfull games from Williams,Price and the everwilling Clarke.not sure on whether our ship is sailing in the right direction yet but to be fair to Russell he has changed his earlier tactics as was evident v Dundalk ,meaning we are less likely to concede as many.

A very welcome and unexpected point, 100% deserved too. I'm much more confident of staying up now we seem to be noticeably improving from game to game (from the 4 home games I've seen anyway). As LTID says there are seems to be a lot of poor(er) teams this season which gives us a fighting chance at least but there's a long way to go,
On another note the officials were a joke, ref giving every 50/50 challenge a free to Dundalk, really card happy when it came to our players also the linesman opposite the stand was a joke hasn't a clue, first half our player's were a mile offside 2 or 3 times, 2nd half put his flag up when told to do so, reminded me of the 1st division and how sh*t everything was.

Also for our goal rainsford took a step onto the pitch and lifted his leg when throwing it in. Couldn't believe he got away with it, it was very blatant. I was waiting for the goal to be disallowed.

I tell you what we do have we have an absolute gem in paudie o connor I find it unbelievable that lad is only 17yrs of age he set up the goal flicking the ball on but his defensive performance has been outstanding first top top player to come through the academy.

Ya completely agree about Paudie. Thought he always stood out with the under 19's. He isn't the biggest build but he has not let any players bully him around. He looks confident on the ball and reads it well for someone so young. Bright future ahead and I think Martin is the man to get the best out of him.

I have to agree on Paudie - he's the makings of a top-class defender. Very impressed with him!
