    Dundalk (Leinster Senior Cup)

Decent game in Ferrycarrig tonight until sending-off of Wexford's Ryan Delaney to a straight red after 35 minutes and match then drifted badly to its inevitable conclusion. Youths started with Graham, Conor, Craig McCabe, Ryan, Jimmy, Jonny, Lee, Andy Wall, Andy Mulligan, and with Rocks and Danny up front. Wexford started well and after four minutes Jonny Bonner shot straight at Sava in the Dundalk goal when he looked to have more of the goal to aim at. On 14 minutes, Dundalk got their first shot away but it went low and about a yard wide. Two minutes later, a cross from the right was headed home by Dundalk's O'Connor to put the away side one up. With 20 minutes gone, Andy Mulligan put in a good cross into the box which was met by Danny Furlong but his first-time effort was blocked. On 35 minutes, a dangerous cross from the left by Dundalk was just touched away by a Youth's defender for a corner. A minute later, a long ball down the right wing saw Ryan Delaney and a Dundalk attacker both trying to get there first, but Ryan was adjudged to have brought the forward down and was given a straight red which looked a bit harsh but I wasn't the closest. Graham did well to keep the resulting free out as it came through the Wexford wall. With one minute to go, Rocks got a yellow for a tackle and half ended on 1-0 scoreline for Dundalk but with the Youths down to 10.

Second half was a bit of a snorefest as Youths conceded space and tried to hit Dundalk on on the break. On 14 minutes, Graham did well in the Wexford goal to push away a good Dundalk effort resulting from a nice passing movement inside the Wexford box. From that corner, Youths couldn't clear and Grimes knocked it home for 2-0 to Dundalk. Third goal for Dundalk came on the 90th minute to make the final score 3-0 for Dundalk. Late subs for Wexford were David Doyle, Drukie Drohan and Conor Maher. Best for Wexford were Rocks, Lee Grace and Andy Mulligan while Andy Wall had a very good game in what may have been his first Wexford start. Next Saturday's game in Cobh now looks like a massive match even at this stage as the team looks like it needs a positive result to get their season going. Not more than 150 at it.
