Meeting due to take place tonight between Wexford Football League, FAI and Wexford Youths to secure future of Ferrycarrig Park. Essentially, proposal will involve substantial payment from Wexford League for right to use facilities with option for Mick Wallace to buy back the grounds after ten years. John Delaney will be in attendance.
FAI has already agreed price with receiver for Ferrycarrig.
Good news for Wexford football. It's a ground with massive potential, but badly needs better access in from main road. Some permanent structures in future to sit along with a fine clubhouse would make it one of the top facilities in the league in my opinion.

Understood that "better access" from main road was denied planning permission when the ground was originally developed.
Confirmed today that Wexford junior clubs voted in favour of FAI proposals and that future of Ferrycarrig Park is now apparently secured. Complicated financial arrangement but Mick Wallace has option to re-purchase at some stage. FAI committed to put in a few bob also.
RE: "FAI committed to put in a few bob also", is this just to help buy the stadium back, or to help do it up a bit with something more permanent than the stand there or the surrounding fence?

I understand that FAI will contribute to purchase and to part of maintenance costs. Don't believe that they'll contribute to major development of the site.
Good to hear, as a City fan hoping to see you guys for our almost annual League Cup game!
