You can get a 'bespoke' design, but you have to guarantee a minimum order, and most clubs simply don't have the cash flow, or back up funds, to guarantee selling that amount of shirts. We're small fish unfortunately.

I love the jersey. It's a shame both clubs boards looked at the options and picked the same one, but I guess both thought it was the nicest! Slightly different shades of green but not really noticeable.

Don't see it mattering a huge amount, but odd nonetheless.

I think Smithers picked me because of my motivational skills.

Buttimer will undoubtedly decide that Cork's home strip clashes with Bray's away and vice versa, meaning the only sensible solution is for both to play in their home kits.

All jokes aside, we have had kit issues with Bray before when they should up with just a set of green and white stripes to play us when we also wore green and white stripes.

The problem at that point was that thier home shirt was green and white stripes, and their away was white.

Bray dispute this as their kit was white and green stripes at the time.

Not really noticeable............I think you'll find, its the exact same jersey, only difference is the sponsor.

Cork and Bray - same Nike knock-off jerseys. Derry City and Sligo - nearly identical kits. Shels, Limerick and Longford Town away - same Macron template. I know most kits are templated these days, but sometimes having a completely different supplier, freshens up things. Bohs for example, their Hummel kits are amongst the best I've seen in years.

Kit would have been chosen a good while ago I'd imagine, before Bray revealed theirs. Even at that, the catalogue you chose from is limited so this sort of thing will become more common if clubs start buying from retailers. I prefer the idea of an original non-catalogue design. But it was obviously the best financial option for the club and the jersey will sell for sure. The away jersey was sold out at Xmas despite the poor reception.

And theirs is from a catalogue too. Aidan Price's company is the distributor

Don't think the bohs kits are from a catalogue. At least not in any catalogue I've seen.

There's a few that are bespoke this year. Pats, Derry, Sligo, shamrock rvs,
Bohs, UCD and Wexford. don't know about Dundalk.

Hang on, both Sligo and Derry independently came up with the same shirt?

    On the whole template/catalogue thing.
It's not a league of Ireland thing only.
QPR wear kits that are from the same catalogue as bray/cork/drogheda/athlone/cobh
So do most clubs that wear Nike. It's only the really big Nike clubs who get completely bespoke kits.

Err clubs don't generally design their own kits!
Most companies have 3 layers of kit supply:

Top: whatever design and colour scheme you want (Barcelona, bayern, arsenal etc)
Middle: here's our templates take your pick and we will do your colours or add trim or whatever (most top league european clubs)
Bottom: here's the catalogue. Knock yourself out. (Everyone else)

Not catalogue shirts either though. So they fit into tier 2.

More chance the ref turns up in a green shirt and makes both of them change

Do any cork fans wish they would return to red and white or have they warmed to the green?

Doesn't feel like the real cork in green. I also noticed a trend of supporters who had an interest in gaa and soccer in cork would buy the red city jersey and wear it in pairc ui caoimh or thurles as it was a bit " cool " and recognisable as cork straight away. Don't think it was a huge floating market or anything but you don't see that customer buying the green kits.
