Second-half was affected by the usual raft of substitutions but Wexford did enough to grind out the result. At the start of the second period, Andy Wall and a returning Gareth Wallace came on for the Youths outfield and Seamus Houghton replaced Graham as netminder. Wexford had a good spell at the start of the second half and, after five, Ryan Delaney headed over from close in. Ten minutes later, Wexford doubled their advantage when a good press forced Dean Delaney to clear straight to Peter Higgins who knocked it home for 2-0. Seamus Houghton got down low to keep out a Bohs effort from a tight angle and then, with 20 minutes to go, Bohs got one back when a cross hit Craig McCabe on the arm and Jason Byrne put away the penalty to bring the score to 2-1. Podge Murphy and Dean (?) Cornally were late substitutions for the Youths as they managed to hold out for the 2-1 scoreline.
