Looking for advice on Comms and Satellite/Cable

Hi guys,

I've got a small/nice problem. I'm fitting out a house in the Kimmage^Crumlin area for someone in my family to move into. They need access to landline, broadband and television. There are a number of phone points around the house and in all of the bedrooms. I would suspect that whatever cable provider is subscribed to, the Sport channels will be essential.

Previously there was seperate Sky, UPC and eircom, Sky got ditched, and UPC was left for TV and phone, and Eircom for Broadband.

It's been sprung on me quite suddenly, and needs to be ready to go relatively soon, within a fortnight, so while I want to get the best deal on offer, I also don't have too much flexability.

What I'm looking for is any definites to stay away from in terms of broadband providers, any nuggets (i.e. Magnet look relatively good as an ISP) to watch out for, or whether it's just better off getting the full package from UPC/Sky/Eircom.

I've UPC for TV and broadband. Never an issue with either. They do competitive enough bundles now too

These dreambox yokes are very popular now. Not sure what the story with them in Dublin is, but up around here, they've almost taken over Sky. Work out around 60 or 70 quid a year for the entire sky package.

I've been with Smart/Digiweb for phone and broadband for the past number of years now with no major fuss and always a decent company to deal with, as well as probably having the best value for money broadband in my opinion.

I've UPC with the phone, broadband and TV package. Never really have an issue with them. Rarely use the phone but it was actually cheaper to have the package with phone than when we had just TV and broadband. Digital box bit the dust last Saturday and had a replacement delivered by Tuesday lunchtime.

What Dodge and Passing interest said. UPC Horizon bundle is what we have. All in one box 80pm.
I've had UPC in every house I've lived in around Dublin and never and issue with them.

I wouldn't dream of touching anyone else at all if it were me. Especially as the house is in Dublin.

We're in Drimnagh, a five minute drive from Sundrive Rd - Kimmage Rd. We've had UPC since we moved into the area, TV, broadband and phone package (rarely use the last, tbh) and few problems - none that weren't easily solved by a phone call. We did consider switching a few months ago, but they scrambled together a better package than we were originally on, and for less money (about €70 a year), so they can be beaten down for a renewal contract, which is another plus.
