Agree with ya he is a better player than O'Leary tbh. Good start to our signings very happy with this one.

Wow those signings we just announced are a disgrace, the managers son brought in makes me really question whether Russell is the man already. O'Donnell is a good signing but the other 2 are relegation material.

O' Donnell should prove to be a really good signing and Dean Clarke is a handy player, haven't heard anything good about young Russell. I just hope he's not another Alex Scully!

I think Russell has shown with a few bob he can bring in some good players and the get the best out of the lads we already had last year so I wouldn't doubt him. If the budget is tighter next season then he needs to use it more wisely. We can't sign all quality and the players we signed in July were never going to be kept on due to costs with the exception of maybe Lynch who I think we might have pushed the boat out for.

I'll reserve judgement on the squad till we are up around the 15/16 signed mark.

Russell is an awful player I thought it when I seen him myself and the Longford fans on here haven't done much to change that.

I'd have serious questions about any manager that would bring in his son when he is clearly nowhere near good enough to be here tbh. Like you say he needs to use the budget more wisely if its tighter this season well any cent at all spent on his son is wasted money. I'm happy with O'Donnell and ok with Clarke but the signing of his son has ruined it for me tbh.

Good to see Robbie Williams being re-signed tonight.Things will fall in to shape very soon and we can look ahead to March with great optimism.

I've been willing to say nothing until players started getting signed, but I'll admit, seeing Russell sign up his own son gives me some serious pause. It's unwholesome.

Connor o donnell seems to be the only player of quality out of the 3 that are signed.big problem will be scoring goals next season.

The UCD fans have said Clarke is ok and barr last season when he was injured he seemed to do ok. Collingwood team captain, pacey, can score goals and was tipped as one for the future in the LOI.

And has missed a huge chunk of time with a very serious back injury, I have massive doubt about whether he can come back the same after that. He was behind me at the UCD-Galway play off game and was telling them about having to wear a back brace and all this stuff. If he can come back as 2013 him then its a decent signing but its a big if.

I presume players would do a medical with the club before signing and he had to pass that or at least satisfy it to some degree. If not then it would be very naïve.

Medical doesn't show if he will get back to the same player though, Garry Sheahan is a prime example was never the same after his horrible injury. Its probably worth the risk if he is on small money though I suppose because he could be a good signing if he gets back to himself.

Always find leg injuries are worse for footballers than other injuries when it comes to getting back to your best. A lot of players that break legs or tear ligaments are never the same.

Ya especially with Folan. Most seem to be easy about losing Folan but that is under the condition that we keep Oji. Would like to think with Williams staying we are looking to keep onto Oji, Nzuzi and Leahy.

well if Leahy,s signing is anything to go by our medicals are very suspect...he barely played last season.
