Injuries (apart from 2 long term) and more pleasing suspensions were kept to a minimum, the fitness and discipline in this side was key to the very successful season.

Only one red card I think, and harsh enough one too, but silly all the same (McMillan v St Pats) and another missed, the classic 2 Yellows for Boyle v UCD, later upgraded post match.

Dundalk had the best disciplinary record this season. That combined with a very low incidence of injuries allowed a consistent team to play each week.

Just on red cards, Simon Kelly had the remarkable stats- Starts 0, sub appearances 0, red cards 1. Sent off for scrapping in the tunnel at half time in the opening day mullering at Drogs!

Thats right, forgot about that one, briilliant. He joins Sava then on getting a card without actually playing. Sava got one for celebrating the second goal v Cork.

I don't think he has played a single minute of league football under Kenny. He did start a few league cup games though this season.

As oriel says, he didn't play a single minute of league football, but featured in cup games, also had a cameo in Europe. We only played five defenders all season, Gannon-Boyle-Gartland-Massey with Rossiter filling in for injuries/suspensions. Kelly was probably number 6 on the list.
