Normally I am quite conservative on football, but tonight was championship stuff from us. Losing 2-1 at HT it was hard to know how things would work out. Brave and correct decision by Kenny to take Byrne off and put McMillan on for the entire second half and changing to 4-4-2. Superb performance and two huge goals from McMillan. Great scenes at the end fans applauding the side off from both sides of the ground. 6 points clear. 7 with GD, 7 to go. It's looking very good.

I was very impressed with Bohs who really put it up to us, and their display was up there with Rovers first half earlier in the season as one of the few sides to really cause us problems at home this season. Limerick were decent too a few weeks ago in patches, as were UCD for a spell, but Bohs went for it last night.

The huge difference on this season v last is the quality on the bench. McMillan on at ht then scoring 2. Higgins coming on to pass it and slow it down (and tackle at last !) then McDermott to add the gloss on the win. Also players like Ward, Mountney and Rossiter in reserve just shows the strength.

Delighted with the win. Excellent nights work. However the pressure just moves on to next week with a very though away match v Pats.

    Ps nice one Athlone.

Poor, poor game in Tallaght. Sligo were as bad as I've seen them in six or seven years. They were even better in the first game when Rovers tore them to pieces. Rovers were disciplined and professional and the defence looked solid for the first time in about three years, but it was awful hoofball from both sides.
Hard to believe what Coleman was doing. McMillan upfront from the start with North on the pitch and Cretaro on the bench. Then takes Russell off and leaves Cawley, Maguire and McMillan on. Openly booed by the visitors.

Excellent first half from Rovers, Sheppard played excellently as did Waters, Peers was the only one fighting. Second half was very poor, Kilduff and Robinson out on the right didn't work.

Tell all the Bohs you know
that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.

Coleman has pretty much come out and said he's going to finish what Baraclough started and make Sligo a standard, direct British side, getting rid of Greene and Ndo and anybody with a bit of wit about to them. Insane to think that three years ago this was the side we thought were too fancy and compulsive to win a title. Rovers aren't much better but at least Fenlon has the excuse that he needs to make us hard to beat to have a chance at getting European football. You get the feeling Sligo are pretty much exactly where Coleman wants them to be, which is a waste of players with the ability of Peers.

Credit to Bohs for a top notch performance tonight - and two really excellent goals

Dave McMillan will be hoping his two match-winning goals and MOTM award will get him a start next week at St Pats.

Only team more useless than us at present are Cork. Not encouraging at all. Can well see Athlone staying up. Limerick next week followed by a hoor of a few games which could leave little to play for by the time of Drogheda on the final day.

Our defence is in bits and the rest of the team is looking very iffy. You could easily end up getting something out of that game.

Yep 7th - if we beat athlone next week (not a foregone conclusion as corks result proves) I think that will be us safe.

Agree on Bohs improvement on their earlier season form - a good platform for them to build for next year - for me the top 4 doesn't look right without Bohs in it.

Our current form gives us great hope for a cup semi final.

Best game ive seen this season last night in Oriel., cant remenber a cynical tackle. Two top class goals from Bobs , pressed Dlk all over the pitcb but ran out of steam 20 mins to go.
Astute subs from Kenny and league winning form to make that comeback
Hilarious stuff in the stand where errant Bohs fans were marched back to their stockade for having the temerity to celebrate our equaliser!,

Bohs were outstanding in midfield, an area where Dundalk usually dominate. The FAI Cup replay did seem to take it's toll on Bohs in the last 30 minutes. It gave Dundalk the opportunity to get the quality possession in midfield that they lacked in the first hour.

If Bohs can keep that side together and add some pace, they could challenge next season.

Fairly typical that we can barely buy a goal, but all five goals in that match came from ex ucd players!

Still buzzing from last from night. This is the rain why we go to loi games cheer on our team. Watching two teams go head to head.
Was really impressed with bohs that they gave it a right go and it nearly paid off.

Very hard not to get carried away with last night and other results going or way.

Next week is a tough one away to the Galacticos of St. Pats.

I'll be very surprised if Coleman is there next season. If he is can't see anyone wanting to sign for us or fans turning out in The Showgrounds to watch that style of football. While people can disagree over whether Barraclough should have been sacked the MC have seriously dropped the ball with this spoofer.

Awful game by 2 very poor teams.

I am really looking forward to this one. Bohs showed the right attitude in having a go last night - I hope that the Galacticos show a bit more ambition then in the last meeting at Oriel.

It would be smashing if Dave McMillan gets some more game time - he was excellent for the 45 minutes he got last night

David McMillan’s 15th goal of the season could prove to be his most precious ever as Dundalk overturned a 2-1 deficit to beat Bohemians and take a huge step towards the SSE Airtricity Premier League title.

I am still chuckling about one eccentric Pats fan ranting about his limited talent - Maybe his 16th goal of the season is coming up next week?

Risky strategy having a guy dismantle a team only to get rid for another new guy to rebuild and wipe out another season with mid-table... the downward spiral started, reduced crowds and so on. Might actually be a better idea to stick and see as regardless of the style if results are happening then the crowds will stay with some sort of platform to kick on from. Still think Coleman was a risky appointment that was unnecessary imo.

The small group of bohs fans who wanted to watch the match from the top of the stand were politely asked to move to their designated area in the seating that is segregated in the front area of the stand. No big deal really and to be fair they eventually moved with no issues.

Two top class goals by bohs, almost replicas, both in top corner, Cherrie didn't move for either.

Ours subs definitely changed the match in the second half, no doubt about that, and they were the reason we got a deserved but very hard earned win.

According to Livescore, Eric Molloy scored for Youffs in 90th minute to snatch a 2-2 draw away to Cobh. That leaves us 3 points ahead of them with far superior goal difference and 5 games to go

Presently Coleman is creating the downward spiral you talk about though. No one wants to watch that sort of football consistently.

Just looking at Dundalks fixtures I see they play Rovers in Oriel with only a few games let, it would be a brilliant moment for Kenny if that's the game that seals them the title.

I'm glad Dundalk have pulled away from Cork, their style of football is worthy of Champions, would have been horrible to see that Cork side win the league.
