And a poor attempt at pretending you're really a Dub ("when I seen...").

Not as bad as Bonnie Shels pretending he's a real hard nut though, by referring to the English football team as The Tans, mind you.

I think we both know that I am far from a hard nut.

Is the term actually that offensive? Or is it merely projected offence because as Irish people we know the root of the term.

I have no idea and I have used in certain situations as a "neighbourly" ribbing, much like an English friend referring to us as Paddies or Micks without any underling Chelsea-Combat 18-BNP connotations.

Reflects my life. Burnout in advertising/ media at 30, back to college at 31 to become a teacher and never looked back!

Percentage of minutes this season to 1 Oct: 4.22%
Percentage of minutes last season to 1 Oct: 4.70%
Percentage of minutes of whole of last season: 4.81%
Percentage of minutes of 2007-8 season: 6.00%
Three State of the Game findings:
    1. More players from the Republic of Ireland were used in the first six games this season than during the same time last season (21 compared to 19).
    2. However less than a third of them (6) featured in every game and, collectively, they contributed fewer minutes during that period (5,002) compared to last season (5, 652).
    3. Half the clubs in the Premier League used players from the Republic of Ireland in the first six games this season: Everton (4), Hull (4), Stoke (4), Aston Villa (2), Crystal Palace (2), Southampton (1), Sunderland (1), West Ham (1), Burnley (1) and QPR (1).

Derrick Williams starts for Bristol City v Peterborough on Sky Sports now, where they've just gone 1-0 up. Cunningham on the bench.

Stephen McLaughlin starts for Notts County at Paddy McCarthy's Sheffield United with Ronan Murray on the bench for County.

In League Two, John O'Sullivan, Seani Maguire and Michael Liddle all start for Accrington. They're 1-0 down to Graham Cummins' Exeter, who also have Jimmy Keohane and Clinton Morrison on the bench.

The lad is eligible for Ireland (through his paternal grandmother), England (through his father), Wales (through his mother?) and Ghana (through his paternal grandfather), at the very least.

another goal for Dan Cleary for Liverpool in the UEFA Youth League today: http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/late...-qualification
Liverpool needed to win by two, and he got the second in a 3-0 win.
Whelan started as well, but O'Hanlon was an unused sub, anyone know what's going on there?
