I think 11 UCD fans at the South Dublin derby is correct. There was a picture up on twitter also, of the away section so people can count for themselves. If you took Cork out of it (and Galway) would it be fair to say that crowds are the same as last season? Agree with most on here that the LoI season is too compressed, lets go back to a 9 month campaign.

The Covered stand in the Carlisle Grounds has 920 seats & it was more than half full. Add in the Pats fans in the away side that's were I estimated 850 from.

fair enough. More Pats fans in the main stand than Bray fans too.

You say that in a way that sounds like people should be impressed.

April is a bad month for fans with clubs playing 6 league games. You also have the EA cup on May bank Holiday week-end as well.
Don't know why season can't continue into first couple of weeks of November as weather does'nt really get bad till December.

If most clubs want it changed they can vote to extend the season. Apparently though a majority want a short season and loads of midweek games.

I'm guessing it's cos for a bunch of clubs the attendances on a Friday and a Monday aren't hugely different.

Also an extended season leaves teams in the 8 team first division idle for a chunk of it. To extend things we really need more clubs.

True, but unlikely. Ultimately the clubs towards the top of the league don't want to play the ones currently in the bottom division. Not that finding more clubs is all that likely either mind you.

We could have some kind of a random draw for a few extra games against each other, four times isn't really enough. Not for points or anything just for the fun of it.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

Just wait for the annual 'expressions of interest' rubbish from the FAI again. That'll solve it.

Speaking of Rovers B, are they getting many to Tallaght on a Sunday? I'm sure I could check Nigel's figures but sure I've typed this now

Not really..260 against Harps and 400 against Shelbourne. A fair proportion of those figures seem to be away supporters too.

336 was the figure I got. Maybe a typo from the local paper.

Was at the ladies match against Germany in Tallaght on Saturday. 1623 the attendance given out if I remember correctly, and it was clear that promotion/marketing got a good number of those present to go (including me). Now I hope to get to the next game if possible. Maybe sometimes promotion of games work; hint those in charge at UCD.
Also noticed that FC United over in Manchester had a crowd of over 4k for a home non-league game tonight with Chelsea live on tv. A sign that supporter owned clubs can get decent crowds.

300 ish at town v Waterford the other night an absolutely shocking home crowd regardless of weather and all the other BS excuses that seem to rotate every week.

Extratime reckoned 450. Would have said 400 or so myself if I was guessing. Either way, not brilliant.
