Goal v West Ham from outside area, keeper could have done better seemed to misjudge it.

west ham were the 28-1 to win which I though was generous, especially when they got a free kick, which was scored.

So west ham now 2-1 up, well done to anyone who took 28-1!

Don't think the keeper saw him strike it becasue of the defender in front and then misjudged the flight, still Harry's first Premiership goal.

Jesus, hard not to read that and get upset.
Have huge admiration for him and his partner for being so courageous and honest

Played well against Arsenal. Has a good shot on him and came close twice. Not as cultured as Wes but has an eye for a gap and can play well in advanced positions.

I heard Howe saying during the week that Arter's season may be over. There I was hoping that both he and Judge would make the squad. Sigh
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

A lifeline for Gibson perhaps if he can see a little more game time.

I've no problem with fast tracking Byrne but I think Gibson would be the more pragmatic choice. It would be a great experience for Byrne but realistically I couldn't envisage a situation where he would be used. If McCarthy or Whelan picked up an injury or just weren't playing well Gibson could be a very useful option.

Harry Arter "I am fighting to get one of the last places in the final 23"

Despite his injury woes, Arter hopes he can get fit for Bournemouth's last few games and will hope to do enough to convince Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane of a place in the Irish squad. "My aim is to try and play the final two or three Premier League games of the season for Bournemouth see if that is enough to get me a chance with Ireland at the Euros," he said.
Would be great if he did make it.

I always try to see the best in our players, management etc but as hard as I try I see nothing good in Gibson.

Is it not a bit hard to justify bringing Arter if he doesn't make it back before the end of the season? Or does his league form merit a place?

He's played half an hour against England, right?

If he is back for the friendlies he would basically have the guts of one game to prove himself.

Then again if Hendrick doesn't regain fitness it may expedite things for Arter.

And the internationally-retired Damien Delaney ought to be brought on the basis of his league form?

Delaney doesn't have fitness or match practice issues to consider - but yes retired for all intents and purposes.

Well I think under the current circumstances anyone who can mobilise themselves 50 metres has to be considered.

What about Pilkington should Arter not make it? Difficult to justify Jack Byrne at this stage, I have never been a huge Gibson fan (and he wasn't that good on Saturday from my perspective). Obviously not like for like but Pilkington would offer versatility - wing, up front. Especially if O'Kane is on the plane...

I think Pilkington should be in the squad regardless. I wouldn't be worried about Byrne being fast-tracked.
