Samsung Galaxy S4 - Keeps losing connectivity

As above. It doesn't seem to like certain locations in particular but when I reboot or search manually/automatically for a network it works again fine... for a while.

I searched through a few forums, etc and it seems a common enough problem but have yet to come across a solution. Factory resets and the likes suggested.

Has anybody else had, or better still solved, this problem?

    Thanks.

I'm experiencing charging problems with my Galaxy at the minute. Sometimes, I'll leave it charging overnight and it might charge by about 6 per cent or so. On rarer occasions, it'll charge the full battery. Not sure what's up with it as I often restart it before plugging it in just to make sure I've no apps or anything running simultaneously in the background eating up energy.

Have a galaxy mini myself and it's probably the worst purchase I've ever made. Feel like throwing it against a brick wall at times. Poor battery, loses all functions at times. Just a disaster.

Yeah, would suggest a the on/off thing too.
Plus, dependent on who your provider is and how accessible their retail outlets are, try a replacement Sim.
My Samsung was disconnecting from the network which was annoying if you needed an urgent call....but seems to have calmed down a bit.

The main problem with Samsung, as with many manufacturers, is 'style over substance'
    And all that brings.

It's a great phone otherwise I must say, but this is a pretty major problem if it persists. It's Vodafone so I might try the Sim thing, thanks.

Definitely try the Sim replacement. Also, if the 4G signal is sporadic, the S4 looks for the 4G signal all the time by default. Change the network settings to auto-connect 2G/3G and see if that helps your connectivity issues. As for battery consumption, the Juice Defender app is the thing to have to extend battery life. Takes a while to fine tune it, but worth the effort. I have an S3 mini stateside, and its been brilliant. Bought a new battery off Amazon to replace the stock one and I've been getting a good three to four days between charges with moderate usage.
Did you ever notice that in every painting of Adam & Eve, they have belly buttons. Think about that...take as long as you want.

On the connectivity issue I would try vodafone first before you do anything drastic with the phone. I have an s4 myself and the signal is perfect and I'm with 3
I never understand what people want from a smart phone battery wise...Most have large bright screens and are then used to surf, game check news or social networky type stuff so of course your going to run down the battery. I still think with moderate to heavy use you should get a day out of it. If its a big concern buy a second one of EBay and keep it charged and on you.

I do have an issue with my s4 at the moment in that the sd card keeps unexpectedly un-mounting...I'm at the stage where i have a little sliver of paper wedged into the slot with the card to see if that helps!!

Hey lads, having a major pain in the hole problem with the S4. Getting the message:

Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped

All I can do is click on OK but it immediately pops up again. I've googled it and found loads of forums with various suggestions but perhaps not specific to the S4. Clear cache in contacts is a suggestion I've seen repeatedly but the steps don't seem to be the same on my phone. I'm trying to avoid a factory reset for obvious reasons but getting pretty close to that point. Hopefully one of ye have sorted the problem previously by some other means?

    Thanks.
