I just checked the RTE player.

I had thought that Limerick started in a 4-5-1 shape but changed after 10 minutes or so by pushing O'Leary onto Ndo to make a 4-2-3-1.

The video clearly shows that Limerick were actually in a 4-2-3-1 shape from the start with O'Leary at the top of the triangle, occupying Ndo.

    Case closed.

He seems to be regaining something of his form of old. First Division football can't have helped him, it would take a while to make the mental step up again. Glad he has. Himself, Bradley and O'Leary is a proper Premier Division quality midfield.

I thought Gamble had a great game against Sligo. You have to look at what he does off the ball, he is a quality defensive midfielder. A consistent midfield three of Gamble, O'Leary and Bradley is as good as there is out there in this League.

I wouldn't agree that that constitutes a balanced midfield three.

Regardless of the way the three is configured (i.e. with a number 10 or an anchorman), you ideally want a screener, a passer, and a creative goalscorer. There are variations on that, but that's generally the template.

We have two passers and a screener.
