Stupid error, alright, and one that could cost them, but RTE has a noble tradition of getting club's names and venues wrong and misidentifying players on MNS and Aertel, so I'm not sure I'd hold them in the same good light that he does. Unless he's adding a zero to the libel claim as he types....
Hello, hello? What's going on? What's all this shouting, we'll have no trouble here!

So the annual very important trip to Norway that's in no way a junket is on. http://www.pfai.ie/news/332-mannequi...os-shop-window

Has any player to date secured a contract with a non Irish side through this? Why have they brought their solicitor again? Does he pay his own way and if not, would it not make sense to bring an extra player?

Shane Robinson? Or was that pre FIFPro?

I see Peter Eckelmann is in the Finnish squad along with "our man" Patrick O'Shaughnessy.

Robinson, and Shane McFaul, played in Finland but didn't play for the PFAI team

No only so the PFAI pay for the solicitor, but they also pay for the journos to head over and cover it

Sure how can you have a management company trip without a solicitor? It would be madness, Ted, madness.

Robinson was signed for Haka by Sami Ristila, who he played with at Drogheda. Robinson then recommended McFaul to them.

I thought it was strange that he was going over to cover such a mickey mouse event when it can be hard to get journos to cover European games sometimes.

To be fair, the only way to get journos to cover it is to pay their expenses. The FIFPro tournament might be interesting but not so interesting that a newspaper is going to spend a grand flying their man out there. PR companies drag journalists all over the world to ensure coverage. Tourist boards rely on it.

My point is that without the PFAI paying for this coverage, it would receive the coverage it deserves.

    None

Apparently FIFPro are paying for the trip rather than the PFAI themselves. Not sure why they couldn't squeeze in a physio.

Dunno bout that, Trevor Croly is probably having tapes of the game couriered to Tallaght quick smart via the PFAI considering all his main targets have fallen over themselves not to sign.

Got caught ball watching repeatedly while on the defensive, his cross examination did not serve him well.
