    were not after medal hunters.

Chairman: we are only looking to bring in people who are similar to what we have already someone with a little something special.

    Interview with the post.

4 or 5 good players into the first 11 for next season and we might surprise a few people there is a few areas in the team that needs strengthening. We have a squad that would survive comfortable as it stands we should try and improve again if possible.

centre half is the main area we have no pace prob need two good centre halfs a winger and maybe another striker beside Rory foley is finished imo and behan needs to have a big pre season and come back in alot leaner and fitter than this season.

Foley has been disappointing all right. I don't think it is unreasonable to think that Gaffney may not be with the club in time for next season, there were rumors of interest from across the pond. Behan is aging, though still decent. Collins is improving, but I think will struggle in the top tier for a while. For all those reasons, a new striker is a most.

I think foley will be better in the premier. He seems to be very fit ad has bags of experience against quality centre halves.

We need out and out wingers, a centre back and a left full. We were lucky Shane didn't pick up injuries this season. In saying that everyone is raving about Anto O Donnell so I'd like to see him get a chance.

Will be interesting to see who pops up on the transfer list.

Right, without trying to wind people up or anything, has anyone else heard the rumours of Scully and all his coaching staff leaving? anyone from the club on this can clarify? I don't even live in the city and I heard late last night, was told its pretty widespread round town. Any truth? Any thoughts? If it's bull, happy to take it down.

In today's chronicle that Scully is going to sit down with the board and have a chat with them. If his view/ideas for the future and the clubs are different then he will move on. Pat O Sullivan feels Scully deserves a crack at the premier with limerick seens as he got us promoted.

It'd be a shame to lose everyone as there's be no continuity at all there. You'd imagine a new manager would want some of the old staff there who know the players and how the club works. I'd like to see it for the players too, a new manager might not like Gaffney, or Paddy or someone else.

I've said before that I don't think Scully, having the team play the way they have, has a long term future with the club, but I'd be really surprised if he isn't the manager next year. His job was to get them up, he's done that.

I ask purely out of idle curiosity, but is Scully based full-time in Limerick?

This surely has to be bad news for Scully why would they have a meeting to discuss his future if he had their full backing. I think it could be a bit harsh to get rid of him after he got us up but it could be whats best for the team.

It's seems like a mutual meeting going by the paper. Maybe they need to discuss in more detail what kind of investment in the first team will happen etc..... I'd say they have a meeting like this every year so the board and Scully both know were they stand.

If he's pushed out it would actually be a thundering disgrace of Newcastle United/Mike Ashley style nonsense. I'm not convinced wholly by Scully by any stretch but he's gotten us up and deserves a crack at it. He could very easily have taken off when Jack McCarthy was trying to wind us up too but showed some loyalty.

Everything Pat O'Sullivan has done so far has been more Jack Walker than Venkys. I believe POS has a bit more class than to toss the league winning manager aside before the season is even completely finished. I hope I'm right.
The ball is round and has many surprises.

Mentioning POS and Venkys in the same sentence is just so WRONG :-)

While i think it would be very harsh i don't see why it would be a disgrace is that purely because we got up with him? This is a massively important time for the club and surely if the board think they could find someone better suited to start putting down foundations for a team to be successful in the premier then they should do that?

I can see where you are coming from don't get me wrong just wondering do you think Scully will actually be a success long term in the top league.
