    The Spain v Italy thread

Do people have preferences how they want this one to go?

I am thinking the worst result would be Italy beating Spain.

Effectively that would mean we had the best team in the world in our
group and a team that was even better than them!!

A Spain win or a draw seems an OK result, but not sure which I prefer.
Maybe a 0-0 draw but I don't know all the tied results results rules but scoring
more goals is always a positive for a team.

I suppose several sendings off, broken legs and various other injuries causing players
to miss games would be a bonus.

Ideal result is a massive fight and both teams disqualified.

Definitely a Spain win, followed by a draw. Italy winning would be a disaster.

Now I remember, TC you were the guy who wanted separate threads (forum clutter) about every event, just because of your hate.
And you'd argue until the cows come home about it.

I think Italy will give Spain a good game of it. I predict a 1-1 draw

    Given up arguing about it.
It is the best method though.
It seems the preferred method is to make threads forums, so the clutter in moved into one mangled thread where everything gets lost
and it is impossibly time consuming to follow a thread because it has become several threads mangled up such that you can't
make head nor tail of it.

I hope Spain wins. Italy could well struggle to beat Croatia too so that means if we get a result Sunday then the Italy game could be huge. Oh God, it has begun. I don't think I'm ready for this!!

See it begins in the Spain Italy match really doesn't it?
Spain become Ireland for 90 minutes (let's hope they play a bit better than us - lol)

That should say "I hope they play as good as us".

Draw please. If Spain beat Italy and then us, then they might have nothing to play for in the last game, which would not be good for us.

I thought Spain winning big would be the best result. Would deal Italy a big blow, and might have the Spaniards less focused for matchday 2 vs. us.

If Italy/Spain draw, then they're both eager to build from there, and the stakes are raised for their second fixtures. I suppose that pressure could go either way.

It's a tough call in my mind, torn, but think Spain win is best??

Yes anything but a Italian win and I'd be happy enough.
Both results have disadvantages but a win for Italy would far outweigh both of these.
However if we win/lose all three games then it's all irrelevant

The way I look at it is if we win our 3 games the result here doesn't matter

How come Spain gets to have all 3 games in one city?

    Spanish line up is:
Casillas, Pique, Ramos, Arbeloa, Alba, Iniesta, Xavi, Fabregas, Alonso, Busquets, Silva.

    No recognised strikers!
One way of fitting all your best midfielders into to starting 11 I suppose

Agree that an Italian win would seem to be the worst.

Draw possibly the best followed by a Spain win. Dont want Spain on 6 points and through after two games and taking the pedal off in their game against Croatia. (though that would mean beating us, which will be no mean feat ) If we win today, then this result wont carry as much importance.

We want Balotelli to play against us. He could do something stupid & get himself sent off.

Have been impressed with Italy. Right wing back looks a threat & De Rossi has been excellent. To just drop in & play sweeper is no mean feat.

Spain a bit toothless. Hope they play 6 in MF against us!

    He bottled that one!

What are the odds on all group C games ending in a draw?
