    Post GasLand 2010

    GasLand 2010

It is happening all across America-rural landowners wake up one day to find a lucrative offer from an energy company wanting to lease their property. Reason? The company hopes to tap into a reservoir dubbed the "Saudi Arabia of natural gas." Halliburton developed a way to get the gas out of the ground-a hydraulic drilling process called "fracking"-and suddenly America finds itself on the precipice of becoming an energy superpower.
A must watch film, scary and i hope it aint gonna happen in Europe on the same scale.

You could definitely see some local concillor in the middle of Offaly or somewhere signing over just about everything for a brown envelope and allow them start work first thing Monday. And there definitely aint no coming back from it.

If it happens then we are all gonna be 'fracked', our lads would roll over and die if there was a few junkets and a golden hand shake. What ever about not knowing about the damage and being tempted, you could see them signing on the dotted line regardless even with the full facts

That trailer is damn scary! The ancestral homestead is too close for comfort to the part of Leitrim-Roscommon where the gas is... But all is OK! The BBC are quoting a report by 'pscienticians' that fracking is good - possible earthquakes notwithstanding.

'Fracking for oil and gas is a safe process, providing proper safety measures are taken, according to an independent report.
'Fracking is seen as a controversial way of extracting gas or oil from the ground and could be used in Northern Ireland.
'It is a process where rock deep underground is split or fractured by forcing liquid into it to release oil or gas. A report on Tuesday confirmed minor earthquakes near Blackpool were caused by a fracking operation.'
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-17737991

Interestingly, they don't name the independent authors of the study. I do wonder why...
Hello, hello? What's going on? What's all this shouting, we'll have no trouble here!

Ah, that fountain of knowledge known as Palin. That woman needs to go frack herself!
Did you ever notice that in every painting of Adam & Eve, they have belly buttons. Think about that...take as long as you want.

And thats only Leitrim. If it gets anywhere near places like Carlow given their councils history in property matters then there will be all sorts of strokes being pulled. Its aint the TDs we have to be afraid of, its all the two bit councillors looking to make a name for themselves or worse again, the ones who want it all to go undetected. You couldn't make up half the stuff that goes on ...... but this time its not a quarry owner pours 3 million tonnes of dirt into your backyard to block out the daylight in an effort to get you to sell, its a fracking company who will throw coppers at councillors to have the privilege of doing untold damage .... and damage that there is no coming back from.
