    Non-Irish International Football Thread

Capello resigns as England manager. I love the Tans so much.

Today was a really good day for harry redknapp.
That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age

So that was a bit mad, why would he go because of John Terry?
Isn't the real reason they want tax evading Rednapp as manager
and he know it so he just wants a convenient excuse to leave gracefully before he gets the boot.

SO they have the excuses in early.
Looking forward to the explosion and then the implosion against the Frence. Such a shame I'm gonna be on a plane from Berlin after the IRL-CRO game so I'll miss that English match.

There is always the worry they'd get in someone decent. Unsure if 'Arry is that man?

    Personally I'd prefer Phil Neal...

    I hope they get Arry.

It'll start out with all the hacks in love with him........a few bad results and he'll crack.

This Twitter craic is getting way out of hand. Rio Ferdinand and Rooney saying that Redknapp is the best man by a mile...what if he doesn't want it right now? Basically they're after telling their new manager that he's not the one they wanted. If John Terry had the slightest bit of dignity, he'd withdraw from the squad and let them get on with it.

The FA's behaviour has been farcical. They take a strong moral stance that somebody in Terry's position cannot possibly captain the team (oh, but playing for the team is no problem).

The BBC has a few articles about how Capello's comments 'undermined' the authority of the FA, but conveniently ignore the fact that their decision to strip Terry of captaincy fatally undermined Capello's authority.

Well he undermined his own credibility by stripping Terry of the captaincy once before and then reinstating him. Inspite of his great record at club level and favourable win ratio in qualifiers, his reign has been farcical from start to finish.

If you're paranoid, let me reassure you: everybody is not out to get you. It's only one guy and its not who you think.

Typhoid Terry, a man best avoided. Seven degrees of separation to be on the safe side.

Disagree he was decent for that job.

Was found seriously lacking in the last WC.

I hear you but I can imagine the English dressing room is quite a hard place to manage. I wouldnt imagine its very sophisticated for a cultured man with ideas like Capello

Well he liked to give the illusion of being sophisticated; If I was English, would have have been more concerned about his pro-Fascist noises for Franco & Mussolini...as reported in their media.
