I'm genuinely convinced there was no major push for Premier football on our part.

Thomond was held in reserve incase one of the Premier clubs died alright I'd guess.

But the squad has been geared towards winning the First Division, not Premier football.

It was clearly fudged, the two day delay was obviously to desperately drag a couple of clubs over the line. There will be many a shambles this year, same as any other.

we all knew they werent getting in before today - I think the FAI knew Cobh and Tralee weren't going to be up to the requirements and designed the first division based on that so that we wouldnt be in the same position we were a year ago with the schedule being completely redone and clubs changing divisions.

Neither Cobh Ramblers nor Tralee Dynamos will appeal their failure to get First Division places after the composition of this season’s Airtricity League was confirmed with the news that 20 clubs have received licenses.

    A Championship: 4 years - 8 first teams - 0 financially ruined. First Division '14: 7 first teams.
Opportunity lost for new clubs/regions to join the LoI family.

no real point given that the FAI have already decided they wouldn't get in even with a license. Its a pity as I was looking forward to popping down to Cobh on occasion and maybe back down to Tralee for a cup game.

I am glad though that yesterday went well, we really don't need any more stories showing how much of a shambles this league can be

Have to agree with you what was the reason for the delay,? However what would have happened if only 11 teams were awarded a premier licence, if your club only applied dor a first it can't be changed to a premier after the closing date afaik
I wish i did not know then what I dont know now
