Mullingar aren't in there. I'd say the other four are though, GUST and Cobh for definite.
I'm only guessing at the following,
Cobh Ramblers,
Tralee,
Carlow,
GUST,
Mullingar?
Anyone with more definite information?

Tralee have as well haven't they? I think it's Tralee, Carlow, GUST and Cobh. Possibly one more club to make 14 teams?
Yeah, AFAIK it's just the four Nigel mentioned - surely that makes 12 teams though, given that you've counted Galway on the double?
Wasn't there 4 though before GUST even decided to make a move.
Fanad and Castlebar where mentioned.
Fanad?
No news about Castlebar, so don't think they'll be involved. Fanad would make sense given they were also in the A Championship, but the Harps and Derry fans say they've withdrawn their application.
Fanad and Castlebar are not applying and Carlow by all accounts are going to play in Buckley Park,Kilkenny !!!
We are the Galway Boys Stand up and make some noise"
All very mixed messages from Fanad. Some say they have applied others say not.
It would be great to be going back to Buckley Park, some great times down there through the years as a Harps fan.
I also remember getting a 3-0 hammering down there on the 23rd of December when Speak couldn't make it as he was working. The temperature was only a smidgen above absolute zero as well.

I cant remember driving back from Kilkenny once, to Cork which is normally about 2 hours and it took 5 hours. The fog was so thick i was praying for other locally based drivers to be on the road and tail gate them for a bit, their red brake lights were the only thing i could see.
Edit: we had just sign Jimmy 'The Gnome' Mulligan but he wasn't playing yet, so when ever that was.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
Did someone say Buckley park?

If Fanad or Castlebar haven't applied, then it would make sense to add GUST, Carlow, Tralee and Cobh to the First Division.
It would make equally as much sense (and I reckon it's at least as likely) to add two of the four.
it would have made bags of sense to include Cobh this year but they went with 11 teams - who knows how many they will let in
True, but if all four clubs meet the standards set, what would be the point in keeping two of the clubs and not the others? It would prove a massive rejection of the A Championship, for instance, if Carlow and Tralee are sent back to their old leagues, and their contributions to the U-19 League were effectively wasted. Also, new areas will hardly be encouraged to enter teams in the future, unless clubs are only excluded for failing on their licences.
I can see them just putting 1 in - Cobh maybe - and having a 10 team division, 36 games each

My bad with the sums, at the Christmas sherry a bit early!

I think the Galway thing is throwing a lot of people off, including me. 4 teams would be ideal, but even if they had two in that would be pretty handy. Why not just invite about 10 teams and make a massive division? That would be some craic.
