I haven't seen the wording but I would expect that the "ban" refers to the senior division of eL - it was in place long before the U-21 league was thought up. I'd be surprised if it applied to U-21 league players.Originally Posted by joeSoap
I presume the team representing UL/Aisling Annacotty in the Eircom u-21 league is an entirely different squad from that participating in Division 1A of the Junior league this coming season.
What with the 18 month ban and all...??

Ok, but the registration process for U-21 and senior players in the EL is the same. They're registered with another league, plain and simple. Therefore their (LDMC) ban should still apply??
I remember when Beirnstein from the FAI came down to give a talk to us in Hanrattys, some ldmc people were there bitching about some junior and under 18 players being swiped to play under 21s on weekends. i think it was open season there but we only won one game that year and i think that was rigged or something. we didnt have to many players from the junior ranks anyway...the LDMC just told them not to play.
interested thing about this year in Limerick football.
Limerick, are national champions at under 14, under 16, under 18 and Junior champions (fairview). Limerick are bottom of the first divison. says it all really.
