63/64 also saw Rovers win the Leinster Senior Cup, so this was a quadruple season for us.

We also did the treble in the 31/32 season.

FYI the League Cup became the "3rd" trophy when it replaced the Shield competition in 73.
That almost sounds like a Liverpool fan.

It could be very difficult for Kenny. He'll have big egos to contend with down there.

It's a step up - he's joining the league champions, the first Irish team to reach the group stages of a European competition - but not by much.
Let's just take the head to head results in the league from the most recent season.

    Code:
    DCFC 0-0 SRFC
    SRFC 1-1 DCFC
    DCFC 1-0 SRFC
    SRFC 1-0 DCFC

    DCFC P4 W1 D2 L1
    SRFC P4 W1 D2 L1
Shamrock Rovers finished with 9 more points than Derry, 4 more than Sligo. Derry won silverware, as did Sligo. The top three finished with a cup. As much as fans like to think, in truth, there isn't a huge gulf there, which is one of the great things about the LOI.

Wouldn't be familiar with the level of football in that league but interesting to see if he takes a chance on Pat Sullivan.
False hope is worse than no hope. Ask Sligo.

Without a doubt the level of football is shoite!

I lived there for the first season of the A-League. Could never bring myself to endure it in person. Watched it from my couch a few times though and it was pants. Glad for Jim though to have gotten a decent club.

Funny reading back on this thread, the hubris of Rovers' fans in terms of how great a club we were and how it was onwards and upwards after O'Neill, Sligo fans reckoning O'Neill staying on would be the best thing that could happen to their title aspirations. Now we're lumped with Croly. How things change.

Ahhh, Agent Kenny and the Patsy Croly. Both missions a success!
