Changes to FAI Cup programme
The two FAI Carlsberg Cup second round clashes for which no dates had been set, between defending champions Longford Town and non-league Leeds, and UCD and Cork City, have now been fixed, while there are a couple of other changes to the programme for next weekend’s Cup fixture list.
Longford’s meeting with Leeds will take place at Cork City’s Turners Cross ground next Sunday (July 25th) with a 2.30pm kick-off.
The game between UCD and Cork City has been provisionally scheduled for Belfield Park on Wednesday week, July 28th, at 7.45pm.
Changes to existing fixtures see Cobh Ramblers’ meeting with Limerick FC brought forward 24 hours to Friday night, July 23rd, with an 8pm kick-off, while the all non-league tie between Quay Celtic and Drumcondra will now take place at 2.30pm on Sunday, and not 2pm as had been originally decided.
The second round of the competition, which sees the 22 eircom League clubs enter the fray, gets under way with two games on Thursday night: Louth rivals Dundalk and Drogheda United do battle at Oriel Park while Bohemians take on non-league Cork side Ringmahon Rangers at Dalymount Park.
