Seriously hope some of that ridiculous over-confidence is shared by your team.
Lets redefine what it means to heal

We lost most of our first-team squad after relegation in 2008 and still won the league in 2009, with much smaller budgets than ye and Fingal. So I don't think that argument holds any water at this stage.

Anyway, it's going to be a great day out. Easily better than when we won the LSC last year!

Just watched the first peno and sending off. That sums up refereeing in this country. Laughable.

assuming everyone in Tralee only caught wind of the LOI from the 90's on, two small clubs with little or no fanbase both thriving of the downfall of the mighty Drums.

Of course we didn't exist 50 years before Drums joined the league or win 5 leagues before they won one.....no did nowt until the 90s....

I propose we change the name of this thread to "Shels v Sligo FAI Cup final - Lansdowne Road Nov 6th" in solidarity with our fallen insurance industry employees. Probably annoy John Delaney as well so its win-win.

The fact that both Shels and Bohs predate the "mighty Drums" and have much more tradition pretty much shows you are either ignorant of the game here or on a wind up .

Your own club (shams) were happy to be a tenant of both "small clubs" on occasion.

    * whoops, is that you Bertie ?

The Ballsbridge Bed Pan, was my favourite, in honour of its unique architectural shape!

I always refused to call Lansdowne Road by another name -- such is the fickleness of capitalism, otherwise we might as well stroll down McD Boulevard etc etc.

By the by, does the FAI cup have an official alternate name? ie in honour of the person who donated it or is it commemorate anyone. Or is it simply the cup that existed during the IFA split, with the formation of the Free State league in the early 1920s. Could it become the equivalent of a Lonsdale Belt -- win it three times and its yours, if so, I, along with others in Sligo, would be in favour ;]

According to Daire Whelan in his chapter on the 1970s in "Who Stole Our Game", most of Drums' fanbase never darkened the door of a League of Ireland ground again after they were subsumed by Home Farm.

Odd to hear that Shels and Bohs are 'thriving'.
