    LoI live on TV

I know all clubs deserve a chance for a live game but I'm a bit surprised by RTE's choice for next weekend. In terms of showcasing the league, I'd much prefer to be watching Boh's and Derry. While Shamrock Rovers are champions, Galway have hardly being setting the league alight.

Bohs have been on the last 2 live games and there's only so much the RTE viewers can take of watchin bohs motley crew of glass collectors, Rovers castoffs and bandy-leg brennan.
the viewers of the game on friday will be freed from desire, for 1 week anyway.

I don't think Bray have been on since the playoff against Fingal the season before last. I know the Carlisle doesn't really lend itself to TV, but surely the law of averages dicate we get an away game shown every now and again!

You don't remember a certain game that made Shamrock Rovers champions on the last day last season ?

Yep, it's switching to Setanta then. I don't really understand it - the Magners League finishes up around the same time, so RTE is going from bumping rugger games to make way for soccer to showing no sport at all on Fridays. The whole split between RTE and Setanta is clumsy in general.

Oh right, the one that sold out before I could get tickets, and that I actually watched on the TV.

Was the monaghan V Bray play-off fixture (both legs) not also televised? Nearly sure I saw the wall falling in real time???? (Of course I am getting older and it could be a figment of my imagination too).

Galway seem to get more than their share, TG4 been based in Galway something to do with it? Look forward to seeing rovers and what kind of yard stick their setting this year. The picture quality of MNS on my new samsung TV is superb, crystal clear!

Absolute barmy decision to televise this - now EVERYONE will see how bad we are. Still, should be plenty of goals ;-)

Games are selected at the start of the league by RTE. They got lucky with our games last year especially the Bohs game which was a humdinger.

Don't think any game should be shown on tv better of having a preview show every Thursday and a proper highlights show on Monday compared to that rubbish mns.

What would make MNS less rubbish, but not break the bank? The only thing I can think of really is getting rid of some of the gimmicky Soccer AM stuff, and a little more analysis.

We didn't feature at all last season, despite winning lots of praise for our style of play. We've obviously got similar "TV problems" as yerselves.

Move to Galway so, we have TG4 'looking after us'. Ye could be called UCDDG

    Or just UCG for short.

Anyways, we'll leave the Atlantic wind, rain and flooding to yourselves, thanks!

Boo, Hoo Bohs have been on for the last two weeks and its not fair . Must be time for another letter to the FAI. Probobly only so much RTE viewers can take of pitch invasions, shape throwing and fireworks from the bandwagon brigade from tallaght.

Back in the real world, wasn't there a commitment that every team would be covered live ? Would it not be a good idea if such a commitment was got to visit every ground at some point ? (obviously this escludes the first division which RTE appear to believe exists in myth only).

Do you think some teams ask not to be covered live at home? I think clubs with small support in particular would be a bit wary of the staying home effect whereas bigger clubs are better placed to use live games as a marketing tool, even if it affects attendances on the day.

Not aware of any club asking not to be covered at home and would suggest most/all clubs would jump at the chance. I think it would be better (if possible) to get a commitment from RTE etc to cover all grounds not just all teams (as this can lead to Shams/Bohs V various other clubs). Doubt the impact on attendances is a major concern for any club as novelty of TV cameras could be a draw at some grounds.
