Squad looks very top heavy with Dundalk and Derry City Players.
For example I would have thought Evan McMillan is more on form than Colin Hawkins who has looked off the pace in matches that I have seen.
Also our own Prendergast and Mitchell combination has been excellent. I guess that Conor Murphy and possibly several others have not been considered because of the european finals.
I assume that Sligo have a game in europe at that stage.
Also surprised to see first division players involved - esp Joe Gamble - is he even match fit?

Wonder when the last time Rico seen Joe Gamble play. Or Danny Murphy for that matter.

Pats league leaders have 4 (one of whomever has played about 6 times in midfield), while Dundalk in 7th have 6. He called up 35 but if Pats and Rovers are still in Europe he'll still have to call up a keeper

Lads just a general query, are there any student tickets left for the weekend package, mate of mine said he got a weekend one for 25 quid but cheapest I can see on ticketmaster is 80 quid.

Its only an initial squad, players could come in and out and it will be brought down in size also.

How Mark Quigley is not included in a squad of 35 LOI players is beyond me.

Was thinking the same myself, I'm delighted there is only 4 Pat's players in the squad so far, Hopefully non of them have to play
    Here on a technicality.

There are few positives for LoI clubs in this farce.

Naturally players who are selected will be keen to test themselves against this level of opposition, and for some players (Danny Kearns for example) it could raise the interest level from cross-channel clubs.

The likes of Dean Bennett and Colin Hawkins have been playing through injuries the last few weeks. From a club perspective what they need is rest not additional training and potentially 2 games in 24 hours.

Chill out lads. It's just a kick about around the Aviva. I'm sure the players selected will enjoy it and maybe even raise their profile to boot. Sure we all know the heights Ryan Coyle hit after he scored the winner for Derry against Celtic in the 1997's Matchwinners Tourney (or whatever it was called).

    Quigley brushes aside Richardson snub

Dundalk FC striker Mark Quigley insists he “doesn’t have to prove a point to anybody” as he brushed off his omission from Damien Richardson’s provisional Airtricity League squad for the upcoming Dublin Super Cup.
The news of his absence from the 35-man panel came as a surprise on Monday, but Quigley, who answered the watching Richardson in no uncertain terms at the Carlisle Grounds on Tuesday evening, says he will use the week off to enjoy a first holiday with his family.

“No, it wasn’t a message – I don’t have to prove a point to anybody,” Mark told dundalkfc.com. “The players that I play with every day and the players that I’ve played with throughout my career, they know what I can do, so I don’t have a point to prove to anybody.” When asked if he was disappointed to miss out, he said: “No, not really. I didn’t expect to get picked anyway, so I’m going to book my holiday now and go away with the family. He’s after picking his 35-man squad and that’s it now.”

Mark Quigley brushed aside his suprise omission from Damien Richardson's 35 man squad last night with a complete performance in the 5-1 demolition of Bray Wanderers.

He also drew a line under any potential call up to the squad by booking a family holiday and saying "He’s after picking his 35-man squad and that’s it now.”

He should have been picked. He is dead right to press on and book his holiday. I'd like to hear Richardson's response to Quigley's goals and the reasons behind his omission.

    A Championship: 4 years - 8 first teams - 0 financially ruined. First Division '14: 7 first teams.
Opportunity lost for new clubs/regions to join the LoI family.
