Maybe if you watch the highlights on MNS again or even photos from it, you notice the Monaghan players and pretty much all of your supporters still celebrating in the aftermath of the wall coming down. You might also hear ex-Player Colm Foley saying it should have worked in Monaghan's favour as it gave them time to settle down and get their heads back in the zone. From kick off, we kept the ball, a few passes then it was pumped nito the box, a poor header from Bryne lead to Shields header back into Sava who dropped he's most straight forward cross of the night, 1-1 and penos.

Onto the wall itself... It is a perimeter wall, it is a wall to define the size of the pitch and to keep people off it. It's not meant for 60 or 70 people all rushing it at once. It is extremely unfortunate that the wall came down when you all ran towards it but blaming and using it as an excuse on not winning is as i said at the start... complete bull****
I dont disagree with you comments but your final part about it not build to take 60 or 70 people rushing it is laughable, its a football ground and a premier one at that if it cant take 60 or 70 people leaning againist it (and by the way it was about 20 mons fans) then yous have a real problem. and its not there to define the pitch thats what the sideline is for its there to stop people encroching onto the pitch
I wish i did not know then what I dont know now

It's disgraceful this has happened again and it's just pure luck nobody wasn't seriously injured. If the club can't ensure the safety of people by fixing a wall properly something is wrong. When it happened the last time it should have been made happen that it never happened again. Can't say it enough it's disgraceful and like the Galway incident it's Bray'as fault end of.

    Happens you may be right!

I don't think it made much difference to the result. The game wasn't really held up for very long (30 minutes last season) and in fairness, the only thing Bray had time to do was put every upfront and capitalise on a dropping ball, whether the wall fell or not.

Though it had a lot more affect on the fans as there was pics of Rovers fans joking around as they fell over last season. The picture in the Herald last night looked much more serious.

Tell all the Bohs you know
that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.

Seeing as the other thread is locked, I'll congratulate Bray here. I don't think they've been given the credit they deserve for an incredible escape from relegation. The bookies must've been close to paying out on Bray's relegation during the summer, but their survival instincts kicked in again. In my opinion, they are in the Premier Division year after year on merit as they've followed the rules while other clubs cheated. Well done for staying up again. Now get that wall fixed for once and for all. After the nuclear holocaust, the only things to survive will be cockroaches and Bray Wanderers (cue correction from UCD fan that cockroaches wouldn't survive....)

Hard luck to Monaghan on a devastating late defeat. I'm glad nobody was seriously hurt by the wall collapsing and hope any minor injuries clear up. I think it's one of those things where if Sava had caught the ball and Mons had won, the wall incident would have entered Monaghan folklore - "the day we were promoted and the wall fell down".

By the way, for the lad on the other thread who said Monaghan's players were booed as they entered the tunnel in the RSC, any boos were directed towards the referee and assistants (off-topic, but the other thread is closed).

It's nice to see one of the few clubs who haven't gone to the wall in recent times being promoted.

Its so frustrating the way the media in this country work , all year long our league gets the minimum coverage possible but as soon as something small like this happens a big 2 page spread is printed about it , this incident was a hole lot of nothing , i know it had the potential to be serious and lessons will have to be learned from it but really it wasnt that serious this time round.

Yup yup. I got a message on facebook from a friend in Limerick asking was I at the match, and slagging me about the wall coming down. She didn't even know we'd won (just!).

all i will say that we have laid the foundations for a solid strcture going forward into next year and have cemented ourselves into the hearts of our fans. and that mick has underpined the need to take from the rubble of last season to a fortress like attitude in Gortakeegan. we will not crumble ,and all our players are rock solid pillers of our club..who we believe will fill the cavity left by our defeat......sorry
I wish i did not know then what I dont know now

This UCD fan's only complaint is about the tautology.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

I'm scared by the fact that they need armed police with camouflage gear and helmets to steward their games. And people think Shams-Bohs is bad!
