I think there is always going to be a temptation for a player to play when not full fit for a big game like this.
Doubt he would be playing if it were a minor/regular game.
However if they are going to play him they must thing he is reasonably fit, ArdeeBhoy may be right in that
they will start him and take him off if/when it becomes clear his fitness is a bit of a liability for him the team or both.

Would be nice for him and indeed the rest of the Irish in the squad if they could pick up a FA cup winner medal
such chances are few and far between for most player at their level.

Hull are 3-1 to win and I know who I will be supporting, nice to have a few Irish competing for a big trophy.

Apprehensive more so, somehow there's a connection between Bruce - injured Irish players - return from injury - headline news comeback, earlier than anticipated - followed by suspicious setback, half a season gone, up in smoke and Bruce looking redder than usual 'cruel for the lad'.

Just what the world needs, yet another pessimist in denial, claiming he's a realist. No such luck AB
Usually when a pessimist is called on their pessimism, they deny it and claim they are realists. You'd think you were calling them a leper.
Realists accept a situation for what it is and take responsibility.
The pessimist claims they are not pessimists but realists, because they claim to see the situation for what it is - and what is it?- a bundle of negatives, the worst possible scenarios.
You're a pessimist AB, a down to the bone pessimist, just accept your calling.

Hull have snapped up Tom Ince, on the back of signing Robert Snodgrass. Not that I'd be too worried for Brady. Ince is a tad over-hyped, on the basis of his showing in the second half of the season. Brady showed enough in the first half. It'll be healthy competition for him, even if it might not be completely equitable competition given that Ince's pops and Steve Bruce are chummy.

David Meyler struck me as a stopgap measure in midfield, same as Paul McShane in defence; Stephen Quinn is also a good squad player. Shane Long is probably the only Irish player in that team who is guaranteed a place in the team. I would say the same about Brady but I think being decimated by setback after setback from September on will raise questions; his versatility could come in handy though.

We could really be looking at a shortage of Irish players starting week in week out. Even guys like O'Brien, Walters, Clark and O'Shea that you would expect to start every week have found themselves dropped at various stages last season. Wilson's forays in midfield for Stoke were brief, he is seen as a stopgap measure at left full and he was only playing CB due to injuries....

    I could go on.

I'd say Delaney, Coleman, McGeady, Long and Whelan's place in their respective teams are there to lose though - if fit - Gibson, Brady, Dunne, Wilson, Walters, Ireland, O'Shea and O'Brien all have a decent chance of featuring if the injury Gods favor them.

Showing a bit of form in the preseason games which hopefully continues into the season proper. An injury free season would be nice too!

That side wouldn't be a million miles away from their first choice. McShane captained.

The Tigers began their pre-season campaign with a comprehensive 5-0 victory on a warm evening in Harrogate.

Two goals apiece for George Boyd and Robbie Brady, in addition to a fine Calaum Jahraldo-Martin strike, gave the score line a bit of gloss as preparations for the upcoming Europa League games got underway.

Liked Robbies footwork at about 0.45 he used both feet

Best part of the video is him slapping a Harrowgate player's arse after scoring his first. Or maybe that's just my favourite bit. Also has Ireland's Paul McShane shaven off his trademark ginger mane?
