Except Irish ones. We badly need a left back and one who can pass and attack as well - something he seems to be able do given his position with the u21s and the reviews last season.

This would be a dream come true and a gem of a find if he kept himself in the UTD team.

He played like a winger playing at full back which is understandable. Got caught out a few times with balls in behind him but his pace got him out of trouble a couple of times. He got forward well at times but I'm not sure he'll ever nail down a place at United. Wouldn't be fair to write him off completely just yet though.

He turns his back on the play a lot. He needs to cut that out.

Didn't see the games he's played in, but have heard he did well. I'm not too sure I'd read too much in to the criticism of the English Man U fans because I think unless he was incredible, they would find fault - it seems to me that they are using the fact that Evra is not being replaced by a world class player or even a Baines type of player, as an example of how their club is being run in to the ground by the Glaziers, rather than an attack on Robbie.

It can only be good for his game to get experience in a different position. I seem to recall Gullit and Cruyff talking about Ajax and how they train young lads to be able to slot in to various roles. I don't like Fergie and wouldn't really like Man U too much and I don't like his attitude to international football, but in fairness I always feel that Fergie likes a core of his players being Irish and British. When he retires, it might be harder for the young lads from Ireland to come through.

was the same in the U21 game VS Denmark in Tallaght. Left the right full very exposed at times.

United were exerting pressure in the home side's half but couldn't produce the final ball they needed to get through the Shanghai back-line, with Brady especially wasteful from good positions.
Redcafe unimpressed and don't think he'll be getting gametime this coming season. Never know with ferguson though, nobody liked Gibson and he kept throwing him into games.

I saw the game against the Chinese team on tape delay last night. Brady was terrible, gave the ball away almost every time he received possession. I don't want to write him off yet because as we all know, he was playing out of position, and there must be something more to his game if Ferguson has kept him around this long.

Haha thats great. Its something I've said in the past, putting aside the ridiculous amounts of money that footballers at the top level can earn, deep down most of them are just like every other bunch of lads in teams up and down country. Camaraderie, pi$$taking, just wanting to grab a ball and get out on to the pitch and have a kick about.

Off topic I know but did you see the way Celtic team-mates left Mo Bangura's car when he went on loan to AIK Solna yesterday....

U21 keeper Ian McLaughlin tweeted congratulations to Robbie Brady on being called up to the senior squad for the Oman game. There's a bit of idle speculation on whether this is an addition to the squad or as a replacement for James 'hashtag' McClean.

It's hard not to think it's as a replacement, but congratulations to Brady either way.

Maybe it is for McGeady who has possibly returned to Russia??

Possibly. I'd expect McGeady, Keane and O'Dea would be released for the Oman game. They really should be, along with a few others.

think I read in the Independent that O'Dea would be back for his club this week. Surprised Duffy hasn't received a call up as well. He's suspended for the final U21 game against Italy on Monday, not sure if this carries into the senior team as well.

Suspensions from underage games do carry over to the senior side but why would he be suspended for a friendly?

The u21 game is the day before the Oman game, so surely that would cancel it out anyway.

Apparently Shane Ferguson was recently suspended for the IFA U21s but was able to play for their senior squad.
