Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

I remember seeing Fenn for Cork away at Djurgardens and he was the stand out player on the pitch. He was very well suited to matches like that but didn't seem too bothered with the week in week out league matches.

For me based on a variety of things

Bisto Flood - a real 110% player - gave everything for us when a lot of local players wouldn't have - delighted that he went on to win a league medal. Ripping it up down under too.

Kevin Hunt - a class player during the "Big Club"'s dominance. Was also a gent off the pitch - I probably spent too much time in the Dalymount bars at the time though!

Gordon Johnson - ex St Francis - small bearded midfielder - much like Bisto he was a real 110% type player - it just struck me from him that he was always delighted to play League of Ireland rather than playing in the Leinster Senior where he'd have probably been a decent player at a good club. I would be surprised if anyone who doesn't know me and remembers me going on about him has any recollection of him!
I phoned the speaking clock to hear a voice speak, it said - "At the tone you will be very much alone"

Bisto was a scorer of great goals and potentially a great goalscorer (at a good level), but he always seemed to moan about something. When he played, he really played. That wonder goal for Galway was just, well, wonderful!

He moaned, but if anyone had a right to, it was usually him. He put the work in.

Barry Kehoe was a great player and character. Good story in Paul MCGrath's autobiography about the two of them on trial at ManU.... Kehoe pushing Ray Wilkins out of the way to take a free when playing for the reserves etc and, after Kehoe is sent home, McGrath saying to himself what chance do I have if they don't want Barry Kehoe!
