Cork deserved the win, they were definitely the better of the two sides. After Rovers scored they put in a very poor first half. I lost count of how many times they gave away the ball in the first half, many at crucial times. Cork looked hungry and moved the ball well, they lacked a real end product though. I'd like to see the first goal again but I think Manus was a bit suspect. The second goal was a great finish and agonisingly clipped off the two posts and over the line.
It'll be mentioned here eventually but some toerag threw a bottle onto the pitch. It was quite near where I was standing. He was roundly set upon by all around him and handed a bit of in house justice before the Gardai saved his hide. Hopefully it will send a message out and prevent that sort of behaviour.

Still perilously close, but Bohs' unassailable goal difference essentially gives them a two-point lead.

on anoter note i think tonight finally brings to an end brays hops they really needed to win tonight wery well done drogheda
Sheesh..I know you're happy but sometimes you go too far
Fair play to Cork, well deserved. Dan Murray was MOTM for me. 7 wins in a row and 22 undefeated wasn't enough. We'll be back next year though....
Ironic enough that home results will cost Rovers on their first year..

Tell all the Bohs you know
that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.
Anyone looking for a laugh have a look at the Rovers forum....apparently we deliberatley didnt try against Bohs and made sure we beat them..
Nothing to do with them sitting back and giving us the ball for 87 minutes
I suppose TNB could have some arrangement with Bohs where we get half the prizemoney

All of this has happened before. All of it will happen again.
Hilarious stuff alright, tossers.

Cork didn't look too up for a battle against Bohs on Friday night. Fair enough, they weren't getting paid, things looked very bleak yet again and a European run seemed a long way off. Tonight Cork had the fillup of finally being paid, and coupled with Rovers playing terribly Cork suddenly had a new sense of spirit that seemed lacking on friday night were they went down very meekly. You won't see Rovers fans whinging about Cork suddenly being up for it tonight, the majority on the rovers forum all seem to say cork deserved the win and that we were muck.
There is a bit of a sour taste and a thought of what might of been if we had have played Cork on the Friday and Bohs had them on the Tuesday after they were paid. Is that really surprising?
Like dfx said, 22 games unbeaten was an incredible run. With our squad this year we've done fantastically well, even more so considering it was all done by the book financially. With a full off-season and pre-season for the first time for the key trio of Twigg, Barrett and Sives and with a few more great signings from Michael O'Neill Rovers are set to build upon whats been a fantastic season next year.
We've been inconsistent all season, take for example a great win against Derry a few weeks ago only to go on to lose against Bray a week later.
Nothing new there.
Also, I think the way you played in comparison to Bohs was the key point. They didnt give us a second on the ball, we never settled and eventually just seemed to give up. Whereas you handed us the ball once you scored at let us off, building the confidence with plenty of space and easy balls for dan murray.
That was the difference.
I was laughing at the conspiracy theorists rather than those just understandably ****ed off at losing what could be a crucial game in the league chase, but tonight the blame has to go on your own players.
I know not much people like doolin and even fewer like his style of football, but if he can steer cork to 3rd this season, It has to go down as the managerial achievement of the decade
we looked from Montrose to Swords, from swords to Montrose and from Montrose to Swords again but already it was impossible to spot UCDs right winger
