from reports the all weather pitch was holding water due to heavy rain fall.No match played after the avondale game but pitch was ok for the sunday fixtures.
I have seen Barry Triggs with mayfield snrs while watching Munster snr leagues so far this season but have not seen Pat O'Leary with them.I could be wrong as i have not seen a lot of mayfield snr games maybe some can let you know if I'm correct. From all accounts Barry Triggs,Pat O'Leary and Steph Hurley played well for the jnrs over the last few games.

Wonder if any of these lads have been asked to play on the OT team.I saw o'leary play LB versus rockmount this year and for a small lad very good in air/ tackling.Watched Triggs & Hurley play against Blarney and they pulled all the strings in midfield that night plus mayfields striker S Kearney got 3 goals that night good pace/finishing.Maybe someone has the squard for the OT team that they can put up.Might go and watch ther game in CIT

I was actually meant to say Hurley. Avondale Juniors could do with one or two seniors dropping down but i can't see that happening. Avondales Match against Ringmahon is off due to Ringmahon playing in MJC

Are Barry Triggs and Pat O'Leary playing senior this year?[/QUOTE]

barry triggs and steph hurley are senior players and are helping out the juniors and getting fit, barry triggs works up in the country monday to friday and can't train so friday night games works out well for him, steph hurley is playing for match fitness after his 5 match ban i think he's only played 3 or 4 games all season before playing for the juniors against blarney last week.pat o leary hasn't played any senior games as far as i know

Mayfield Utd - ye seem to have a very good squad this year.Added a few experienced players to your Junior team.As i watched ye versus rochmount early on that ye have a good chance of a title push versus the likes of rockmount/everton & douglas hall

barry triggs and steph started 2 last junior games as jnr team were missing a number of regular starters and are using it 2 get fit.they are still playin snr.
pat o'leary isn't playin senior- he has togged out as a sub for them on one occasion this year i think
jnr team id really strong this year-signed a great keeper, few defenders, 2 centre midfileders and 2 strikers.losing our captain in new year
hopefully we'll be there or there abouts come end of season

I thought ringmahon would be up there this year but doesnt look like it so far. I think it will be between ourselves, douglas hall and rockmount.. And maybe Mayfield and Corinthians. UCC will drift away as usual after xmas.. Strong league

Watched first half of this game they were losing 2-1 at this stage.I was next to 1 MSL delagate and asked which clubs the players came from as i only know a few.
8 PLAYERS FROM ROCKMOUNT- all played
    3 PLAYERS FROM UCC - 2 played - 1 on bench
    3 PLAYERS FROM MAYFIELD - 1 played - 2 on bench

So players from Everton,Douglas Hall,Blarney & Collage Cors not good enoughto be involved
thought this was open to all clubs. All so a few good players in the first div of the JNR league well able to play in this.Take my old club Glasheen they are scoring goals for fun.
the defence were at fault for both goals keeper called for one ball but defender made a balls of it.
the LB for Cork Ot might aswell have been a home he was so poor.
didnt stay for second half as Tipp OT well on top.Cork team lacked direction.
Maybe next year MSL might look at bringing a ex player or ex league manager to select the players like what they did with Pat Keane and the Inter team
the Tipp Ot team looked far more organised and players from Clonmel celtic,St Micheals,Peake ville& clonmel town

8 Rockmount players???? I have seen them play and there is no way in hell there should be 8 of them on that squad.. 3 or 4 max.. Douglas Hall, Corinthians and Everton all have players good enough to be in that squad.. A few former and current senior league players around there..

Maybe players will look forward to their weekends off when OT is on from now on.

i was involved sunday. we were let down by both everton and douglas hall players. both clubs were informed by the manager wat players he wanted, and no one showed. so if wasnt for rockmount, mayfield and ucc showing up, there wouldnt have been a match. i agree its a joke of a set up, it all starts with the msl to be honest. they dont take the competition serious. theres no interest from players either. the manager wasnt given no time to prepare, he didnt much help either, but when you have good players from the likes of douglas hall saying they'l be there and they dont show, whats the point.

Don't you think that is the problem?? The manager contacted the club to ask them to show up and play. Wouldn't he go to the effort of getting the players numbers and phoning them. Make it a small bit more personal so they might actually feel wanted turning up into a rockmount/msl team.

Agree with the MSL issue though, I think it is a waste of time anyway but if done right like in other regions we would be successful

I agree with you there... the msl dont take it seriously.....
It should be an honour to play for Cork ot versus the rest of the country & also the irish Jnr manager Gerry Smith watches these games to see new players. So a chance for a player to step up to the plate & maybe get a call up if good enough.
I think a outside person with exp of this league should take on next years job and be a bit more professional in the way this is done ie Training, squad & Moral.some teams have more than 2 good players on the team but 8 rockmount players is a bit ott. I can agree its afree weekend to some players but we must be able to field 22 players from both JNR Leagues.
As i watched the first half there was 3 players who look like they didnt want to be there but had to due the manager being there club manager too.
one point that stood out..John Buckley was on the bench from mayfield who is a very good centre back from all acounts ( played senior with Mayfield ) should have been playing from start. The OT back 4 lacked someone to talk and organise set plays. If MSL not to worried about this next year dont bother entering a team .....
I think 3 players from each team should be asked then a squad of 30. play a game and then select squad from that.
Look we are out of this years one so lets see what happens next year
Back to the League ......... well after christmas will tell a lot
