He thought Hoey left the club. But I think most people here at the time specifically commented how strange it was that Hoey was allowed stay on.
Too late, our accounts are out there ! Could also apply to licence applications (several of which must be contenders for "best fiction" awards) or indeed to the outcome of a certain process familiar to Dundalk and galway fans !
Most clubs still waiting for "Goldfinger" to arrive and most boards appear incapable of saying (Dr) No to the players... OK, sorry think I need a lie down.
What was the reason for his leaving Stockport then? That was shortlived. I suppose in Drogheda he gets to "Try another Day"

"Sacked" according to the Drawda Indent.
I love this thread!!
Wonder if the Drogs will be able to strengthen the squad at all ahead of next season without doing themselves in financially. Can't see the season going well for them otherwise, although some other club will probably fold and give them a reprieve.
Why wont we be able to strengthen our squad next season ? We have as good a chance as any club outside the top 2 i.e bohs and rovers and will be on a much more even keel this season . Our manager had 3 wks to put a squad together last season and we still survived a relegation battle .Im looking forward with optimism at who he can bring in .We will be a part time club but we can hopefully push on and challenge for a cup or leauge cup even .

Fair enough. I just think it could be a tough season becasue the teams coming up are likely to provide much more competition than we did. I was wondering if the club are in a position financially to hang onto their best players and bring in fresh faces with Premier Division pedigree, how the club did financially in 2009 and whether they will work off a smaller, larger or identical budget in 2010.
I'm not sure what to expect in 2010, but with a 10 team league and two strong sides promoted, it should be a very competitive (and repetitive, but that's a different story) season and Drogheda are in need of improvement more than any other side - hence my pessimism.
Next person to post unsupported accusations will get a permanent ban, and all of their posts and personal details handed to the accusee on a silver platter. It'll make the libel trial nice and easy.
I'm just disgusted that I missed it first time round. Not that any of his non-Bond films could be linked to the League of Ireland, could they??
