Has to be Shels, to paraphrase a nursery rhyme....

There was a little club, run by a little dub,
Right in the middle of Drumcondra,
When they were good, they were very very good
but when they were bad they went unda. [Thanks dcfcsteve]

Shels would also be the LOI club of the Naughties by the way.

I'd suggest swopping "they went unda' " for "they were horrid" in the above to aid its rhyming quality....

Cut him some slack, he supports Fingal, the chap probably didn't know football existed off a TV screen before Sporting moved in nearby.

thats very kind of you! obviously Roddy Collins and his chums got word of this too when they expressed an interest to buy the club!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

This is going to choke me to say it, but the exemplar of the 21st century to date could probably be UCD. They managed to have a good spell in the Premier, got to a League Cup Final, built a new home, had a couple of U21 caps and a B cap too, I think.

In the negative box, however, they did introduce Paul Doolin to the game and had difficulties with transfers to Shels, and had a stupid name change (UCD Dublin?). If anything though, that made them stronger, and they are have apparently managed to avoid a serious financial meltdown.
That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

Two league cup finals (and three other semi-finals) and several U-21 caps (Robbie Doyle, Ronan Finn, Gary Dicker, Conor Sammon, Darren Quigley, Hugh Davey (for the North) and probably one or two others I've forgotten).

The transfer difficulties with Shels weren't our fault. Doolin, on the other hand, we hold our hands up on.

Sorry, I wasn't accusing UCD of it, just saying that this was one of the negatives of the timespan.

Doolin - not a court in the land would fail to convict ye

If I ever want to wind up the committee members, I ask them which one appointed Doolin.

Never got anyone relegated, I believe. Just like Roddy Collins. Not the only thing they have in common either.

Have you also counted the one the year you's were relegated?

    Only in Ireland
So if you think Bohs are big read this. http://www.astronomy.ie/perpespective.html

I've a feeling if you came 25 points behind us you wouldn't care about that too much. Don't worry, there's a whole 90 seasons left this century for you to win your very own shiny trophy.

Actually Derry have won seven shiny trophies this century already.

The year Shels were caught cheating and then relegated you's finished level on points with Derry.

Adding up premier division points for the whole decade would be the fairest way of judging, surely? in which case, we win, since Shels don't have any prem. points for the past two seasons
