Sacked him didn't ye?. "D'Oh!" springs to mind. I think ye may still get some kind of training compensation, though I'm unsure if that's affected by ye sacking him rather than him leaving.

Poll on MNS site about this.

Will Jay O'Shea make more of an impact than Keith Fahey should his move to Birmingham City go through?

Bray will get some cut of the deal, nothing to do with a sell on clause though. It depends on how long he was with you though. It doesn't look like it will be much though.

    Solidarity Payments
If the same move had occurred when the player was in contract, the transfer fee would have been negotiable and 5% of this amount would then have been distributed pro-rata to all clubs involved in his training since the age of 12

    Solidarity Contribution - Payment breakdown

    • When a professional moves during the course of a contract, 5% of any compensation, with the exception of Training Compensation, paid to his Former Club shall be deducted from the total amount of this compensation and distributed by the New Club as a solidarity contribution to the club(s) involved in his training and education over the years (calculated pro rata if less than one year) he was registered with the relevant club(s) between the Seasons of his 12th and 23rd birthdays, as follows:
    • Season of 12th birthday: 5%
    • Season of 13th birthday: 5%
    • Season of 14th birthday: 5%
    • Season of 15th birthday: 5%
    • Season of 16th birthday: 10%
    • Season of 17th birthday: 10%
    • Season of 18h birthday: 10%
    • Season of 19th birthday: 10%
    • Season of 20th birthday: 10%
    • Season of 21st birthday: 10%
    • Season of 22nd birthday: 10%
    • Season of 23rd birthday: 10%
    • Total = 100%

Maybe I just didnt see enough of him but my general impression was that he was over rated.
Definetly talented but to put him in the same bracket as Keith Fahey I think is a little silly.

By my reckoning that earns us about €4000. Still better than nothing I suppose!

It will pay for a new wall

A championship move would have been ideal for him. I doubt he'll make an impact anytime soon at Birmingham. Still good luck, would be delighted he proves me wrong!

I doubt Salthill could afford the transfer fee tbh.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

Think he was allowed leave on a free rather than sacked. There was talk of a free transfer with a sell on clause at the time but no idea if that was true or a rumour. Was muck with us anyway
I'd love to invent a time machine then go back in time and win the lottery, buy new players and a stadium. Time machines are brilliant aren't they- Ian Holloway

Anyone know what Galway got. Anything over 100K is good business.

    Not close to Fahey IMO

no where near €100K, far, far less from what i hear (although it could come to that with the add ons).......bray supporters expect only a few hundred quid if anything at all.

I think around E70k plus add-ons. Nick had no option but to accept due to our financial situation

I think that's going to be the story for all clubs now. Small transfer fees as most clubs can't afford to hold out for more or players leaving for free when their contracts expire. Sad state of affairs
