A young guy named Kieran Murtagh scored for Yeovil yesterday and there are a few different sites saying he is a "British born Irish" footballer. Anyone know anything about him?

I freelance in London and got a call from an Irish fan telling me about Bunn. I have previously tipped off the FAI about English born players who are eligible for Ireland.

This fan, who grew up watching Bunn play for Northampton thought he would go on to be a top keeper and asked me to contact the FAI. Not sure if they checked up on him.

Made me think of the infamous bun-fight that resulted in Jack Charlton's appointment this...

I saw a quote from this guy in one of the UK papers last year saying he was eligible for us, so he must be keen

Ciaran Clarke made premiership debut last week for the Villa. Father is from just outside Letterkenny in Co. Donegal, Grandmother lives in Letterkenny area, currently captain of England u21 team. Would be class addition to Ireland ranks

I can't see him declaring for Ireland after captaining the England u-21 team. Villa wouldn''t let him, for one! English players are worth more on the transfer market for no apparent reason.

What is it with 2nd G centre backs? Martin Keown, Gary Cahill, Andy O'Brien (sort of) and now Clarke.
