Would have to be Shels for encapsulating everything the decade entailed for Irish football (professionalism, progress in Europe, financial meltdown.)
Whether Tyrone or Kerry are the team of the Noughties appears to be exercising the GAA community.
Anybody care to say suggest who are the League of Ireland club of the Noughties. Can I caution against counting up the number of titles and that some consideration be given to clubs that operated on some sort of sound financial basis.
Neale Fenn on retiring: 'I think once you finish you might as well finish rather than making all sorts of comebacks.'

A leading authority on League of Ireland football since 2003. You're probably wrong.
It's hard to see beyond Monaghan United and UCD.
" I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die?"
Dont put a hex like that on us with a few months of the noughties left!

It has to be us and hopefully us winning promotion this season will complete a cycle that's never to be repeated. I'll take the professionalism and winning trophies part but the rest is consigned to history I hope.
I think you will find Bohs have had more success in the noughties and without the financial fiasco (yet, at least) that engulfed the end of the Shelbourne era. Nor did we have the fractious relationship with other clubs that Shels seemed to make a policy of.
To answer the question of "team of the noughties" there would need to be a bit of clarity around the criteria (but where would be the fun in that).
5 titles to your 3? You have 2 cups to our 1. How do you think I'll find you were more successful?

Actually where have Bohs and Dundalk as clubs had major issues ? I hardly think Sean Connors programme rant about Bohs or posters here count as a dispute between the clubs. Nutsey made some comments about the "style" of play we encountered against them but again hardly constitutes an issue between the clubs (as with Connor simply the view of one individual).
Shels no doubt for good and bad reasons.
They raised the bar.
Yeah man, they call gambling a disease, but it's the only disease where you can win a bunch of money.
I was trying to outdo him so yes I was including it I don't consider that a fair win before you start having a go.
See point 3 of my earlier post (please note -this is NOT an invitation to reopen THAT debate)
Would not deny Shels credit for raising the bar RE LOI football in the late 90's early 00's but have to balance against the cost on the club.
My god though, it must have been some rollercoaster for the supporters.
