One of the top 5 things ever to happen the league

It's Mid Season in the 10 team league structure. How do you think it is going so far?:
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!

At the moment its kind of split into 2 more leagues, The top 4 of Bohs, Derry, Cork and Rovers, and the bottom 6 of Dundalk, Pats, Galway, Sligo, Drogs and Bray.
The advantage here is that all the games carry something, and everyone has something to play for
Hard to judge it mid-season in fairness. The monotony of constantly repeating fixtures hasn't had a proper chance to kick in yet.

I wish i did not know then what I dont know now
I would rather a bigger league than 10 team league. the teams play each other 4 times . its a bit monotomous to be honest
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
I would like to see a 16 etam Premier and then a first Division with whatever current teams are left and the few non league sides in the A division and then scrap the A division and go back to the under 20's league!
Was never a fan of the 10 team lge, I think a 16 team super lge/prem whatever name would be good, 30 games would be fine, and start the lge in April and end in Oct, have a real summer lge.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).
Just aslong as we are in the Prem I'm not bothered tbh.
Cumann Peile Dún Dealgan - Champions 2015 (too many accolades to be typing)
Termonbarry Athletic TID!
10 team league sucks ... too boring and too repetitive, Id prefer a 16 team league myself, silly to have so many clubs rotting in the 1st div.
bhs
I think one more restructure of the league will solve all it's problems.
We need to change the league numbers at the end of this season as clearly 10 teams is the origin of all LOI problems.
Lowest quality Premier division in a long time. Aside from Bohs on a good day standard of play is very poor.
I think its a hard one to call,i think playing each team 4 times is far from ideal, and teams like Shels Fingal and U.C.D would certainly not be whipping boys.Add in the appetite for football in Donegal among the fans when Harps are in the top flight and you really could start to make a case for the league to be at least increased by a couple of places.
As said by a fellow Dundalk fan, personally once we are there thats all i care about, but a 16 team league would be a good laugh if nothing else!!
Only another 9 titles till Drogheda become pride of county louth!!!
i'd prefer a 16 team prem league, remaining teams in first division join with the A league non-league teams to form the first division.
Have u20 league too for all teams in prem and 1st div and let clubs put reserve teams in the intermediate/junior leagues if they want to.

For me its seems to have given the league a two season feel which i dont like at all.
The thoughts of playing each team again twice more makes me just shake my head.

i agree that it shouldn't be a burden but unfortunately it is.
i agree that all clubs should have underage structures but at clubs like ours the money just isn't there, and by no means are the first team squad (all 22 or 23 of them) highly paid - far from it.
Personally i would rather if Galway United had u16, u18 and u20 teams (made up of the best local underage players) than the current u20 and A league teams. if at some point down the line the club had enough players to fill a second adult team then fair enough. Developing youth, imo, is far more important than providing football for second string players (which incidentally we don't have due to trying to survive with a minimal squad). A far cry from the DVD days but what can you do....
The only thing in favour of 10 teams over 12 teams is that its better to play each other 4 times than 3 times. Or at least it's fairer to play each other 4 times than 3. Unfortunately we've seen time and again that there is not enough quality in the league to support a 14 or 16 team Premier.
I like the new structure, I think playing 3 times is better suited to first division than premier. I'd absolutely loathe a 16 team league, far too many clubs would have **** all to play for.
