RTE are a public service broadcaster they are meant to cover sports other than GAA. They shouldn't have to be paid by the FAI to produce MNS. They should cover GAA as part of the public saervice but they've got to realise that many people couldn't care less.

Anyway if you think you had it bad ask people who lived in 1 channel land in 1966. The worldcup was downgraded on RTE and barely mentioned. Philip Greene got a couple of minutes each night. 4 of the 5 goals in the FA Cup final were not shown thanks to some loony who thought RTE should be an extension of the Ban.

Does anyone else, anyone at all, find threads like this the height of pettiness and bull****? They spelt a sponsor wrong and called it the FA cup to quote Morrissey "what difference does it make?"

Cork and Limerick are up sh*t creek, The FAI have shown they are inept at running the league, rules are bent and broken to suit certain teams, Bohs have been slapped with a transfer embargo among other problems/genuine issues the league and it's clubs are facing at the moment and this gets a thread!!!!
So? It's a LOI forum- there's nothing to say it only has to deal with the big issues. Since there's precious few places an ardent LOI fan can go online to talk about their interest, it's inevitable that all topics, big or small willl crop up here. Does every conversation you have with your friends revolve around events of earth-shattering importantance? If you don't like it, don't read it.

No, you call him by his proper name, he's a genius. That man is milking the FAI and Oireland fans for all they're worth. I adore him.

Funny, there's not one signpost to Londonderry in the whole of the RoI The vast majority of people in NI, irrespective of their religion, refer to the city as Derry. You're just being a bit of a tit.

I have to say I agree with HairyBowsie

It was a typo... get over it... There are far bigger issues. I do disagree with the line about the FAI's running of the league being a joke. The FAI's control has righted a lot of wrongs and we're seeing a lot less problems this year than last. It's not going to fix itself overnight. The clubs were not equipped to deal with the problems themselves.

also to GSpain... "they have to realise many people couldn't care less"

well, unfortunately for the likes of ourselves, if you substituted 'many' for 'most' you'd have the general populace's opinion of our league. A lot of people care about the GAA so it deserves the coverage. You shouldn't display the attitude so many of us give out about when it comes to our league about another Irish sport. And not one that captures such attention

Fair enough Mickey, but my point is there is ALWAYS a typo or some other excuse for the shoddy treatment the national broadcaster gives the domestic league. Anyway . . . . . .
    "Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins."
    "Homer Simpson, smiling politely."
