whos the bjore that does be on the line?
a pathetic attempt for equality by the FAI. On equality she has with the male refs, is that she is equally crap.

what a waste of space on the line. useless on every single front on the line. it would be fairer if the attacker called himself offside.

Ah hey would you stop, anytime that yoke comes to Oriel she gets abused from all corners and when that happens the referees turn on our team and award everyting to the opposition. Pure joke

Buttimer, closely followed by Mark Gough, closely followed by the rest of them!
Buttimer has been ridiculously inept every time I've seen him. Gough gets big decisions wrong all the time. I could trawl through youtube videos and point out countless examples of crap refereeing from these two but that would take too much effort.

Either Mark Gough or Gramene Kelly. I never look forward to Limerick games when any of them are over the game.

Joke that Gough refs our games as he is based in Limerick.

Derek Tomney is the worst by far. Maladjusted little sod with a small man complex, on top of being as incompetent as the rest. A despicable character who's only in the game because of his father.
A leading authority on League of Ireland football since 2003. You're probably wrong.

Buttimer is really bad and that says something considering the standard we have in the league of Ireland. Do any of them ever get close to getting a champions league match ?

Alan Kelly loves being the centre of attention, especially in live tv games but my vote goes to the colourblind and extremely fussy Anthony Buttimer! The Pat's v Rovers debacle last season was a disgrace! If it hasn't been posted here already, part of his Wikipedia entry (so it must be true ) is as follows:

    Colour difficulty incidents
Buttimer is best known for having difficulties determining the colours of team kits and managerial suits. At Oriel Park on 23 September 2007, he almost postponed Dundalk's league game against Shelbourne after taking issue with the colour of the goalkeeper's jerseys. Buttimer was said to be "unsatisfied" with four colours provided by Dundalk - blue, black, yellow and grey all causing some unspecified problem or other. A Shelbourne director left the ground to search for an alternative kit in the local Lifestyle Sports, as managers John Gill and Dermot Keely told the referee they were on the verge of "going for a pint". Buttimer suggested both goalkeepers wear bibs but was hastily halted, before it was agreed that Dundalk goalkeeper Chris Bennion would line out out in a t-shirt with a white strip of tape on the back whilst Shelbourne goalkeeper James Hussey would wear a training top for the match.[8] In the ensuing media fuss, fellow referee Damien Hancock was mistaken for Buttimer by the Irish Independent.[9]

On 7 March 2008, in the opening game of that season, he declared that the kit worn by Sligo Rovers was too similar to the kit worn by St Patrick's Athletic, insinuating that it clashed with the white sleeve on the St Pat's jersey.[10] After a displeased stand-off, local junior club Lissadell United were requested to provide two sets of jerseys but these were also thought unsuitable by Buttimer. He forced them to wear the dark blue away kit of St Pat's emblazoned with the Paddy Power logo for the match, in which Sligo Rovers took the lead only to lose 3-1 after a delay of 35 minutes.[11] Sligo's kit-suppliers Jako were reported to be considering legal action against the FAI over the incident.[12]

At United Park on 16 May 2008, he chastised the St Pat's manager John McDonnell for his navy blue top which, in the referee's opinion was too similar to the blue of his own team's jerseys. Buttimer demanded that he change it before the game could get underway.[13]

During the 2008 FAI Cup Final between Bohemians and Derry City, he stopped play during the second half of the game to chastise Bohs' manager Pat Fenlon for not wearing a training bib as he felt the top clashed with his own team's shirts.

The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights.

I actually don't subscribe to these anti-ref feeding frenzies, because, cough, someone has to do it.

But... if anyone has one to best Alan Kelly's infamous stanchion rebound atrocity committed against Bohs at Bray a few years back, I'd really like to hear it. I'd also really like to find Mr Kelly's decision on YouTube -- not on BohsTV but I'm sure I saw it somewhere.

I must say I've always had a disilke of Paul Tuite, always has to be the loudest on the pitch, empty vessels and all that. I remember Richie Winters from his playing days in the LSL, thought he knew it all back then as well.

Suppose the same could be said for the two kelly brothers in Cork!
Why are people who "need no introduction" always introduced?
