Drogheda's plan ended

My own club UCD have received Premier Division licence(s) because of plans for the future. If an ongoing decision-making process is part of the application it's up to the applicants to anticipate other contingencies. The licencing determination process gives the applicant the benefit of the doubt until the applicant's ongoing process (in this case Planning Application re-zoning) to play out and reach a Final decision.

That Final bit is a clue to Drogheda's case and other's. Obviouly if there is no ongoing process during application for football Licence then the it doesn't need to be considered.

The reports (and the reasons ABP made their decision) will be available for all to read in a few days on the An Bord Pleanala website - I think people should read those before judging.

I haven't, but I'd be surprised if there was a specific rule about pitches being unplayable because of the actions-decisions of the home groundstaff (as opposed to being unplayable due to weather conditions).

Consequently, I'd be very surprised if Shels were awarded the game.

The report is available now, and I did read it. It makes diabolic reading from Drogheda's point of view. The whole project was never a goer.

I'd recommend that everybody read it.
