    Was wondering about that alright, but its up on the UEFA site so it must be true

    An Iceland club Breidablik (the equivalent of Home Farm) did play in the 3rd round of EL 2013 against Aktobe (4,700 km distance) which is on the western border of Kazakhstan, about Km1,500 closer than Kairat in the east. It took them 3 1/2 days of travel each way and they lost out on penalties. The moral of the story is if you draw a Kazakh team you had better beat them otherwise the grief is huge and multi causal.


    I read in that BBC article that Aberdeen chartered a 44 seater flight for GBP 200,000

    Good article on UEFA.com about the longest away trips in European history - includes a look at the potential longest trip - they reckon it's if Cayenne from French Guyana (in France) met Luch-Energia Vladivostok.
