I e-mailed RTE about the poor quality on RP a while ago, and never got a reply
It does not work. I find that is ok for watching maybe a 10 minute clip but a disaster if try to watch a full programme. I tried to watch last weeks & even let it load before playing but it died at 12 minutes.
The player works fine for me... in Germany.

Yeah, you're right, this new yolk does look promising, and its working away for me now...
Its long overdue though. Up until now, their online facilities have been shocking. Would try to watch shows like "Raw" online and they would invariably go on a loop after 15 minutes...
Yeah RTÉ's online presence has been dire. I really like the interface of the RTÉ player, and I can't wait til more content gets added. Does anyone know if there will be an archive of old RTÉ programmes on it like 4 OnDemand or will it be a catch-up only service like BBC iPlayer?
On a related note, BBC iPlayer is going to offer true HD very soon, for a selected number of programmes. Great if you have a PC with a HDMI connector. I'll be able to watch their shows on my telly with class picture.
